My Heart Is A Fist Lyrics

I surrender, I know I've been a pretender
You can have this guilt this misery I wear so well
I wave my flag I sound the alarm
Somebody stop me before I do any harm
I surrender I know I've been a pretender
I'm living a dead life I'm staring into the headlights
Of a gateway car that'll take me out of my mind tonight
Crash and burn S.O.S.
Somebody help me get out of this mess of a dead life
I'm burning under the spotlight

My heart is a fist drenched in blood
My soul will fight again
My heart is a fist drenched in blood
My soul will rise again

Take a look at these hollow eyes- one last look before I say goodbye
To this candle-lit nightmare I feel like can never escape
So watch me fall from grace-watch me carve my hate
In the heart of a lover I feel I can never escape my fate

My heart is a fist drenched in blood
My soul will fight again
My heart is a fist drenched in blood
My soul will rise again

I see you on your cloud looking down
I'm on my knees today, but you don't notice me
I see you on your cloud looking donw
I'm on my knees today, but you don't notice me
You don't notice me
You don't notice me
You don't notice me
I'm screaming while I pray
While I pray
While I pray
You don't notice me
I'm sick of you
God, I am done with you

I see you on your cloud looking down
I'm on my knees today, but you don't notice me
My heart is a fist drenched in blood
My soul will fight again
My heart is a fist drenced in blood
My soul will rise again

Some seriously dark lyrics here. "God, I am done with you" always creeps me out a little

To me, it seems like this song is about rebelling on the inside, but not wanting it to show for fear of hurting somebody.

"My heart is a fist drenched in blood" --A fist is often a symbol shown for rebellion, and it's his heart.

I've read all the other suggestions, but this is just how I feel about it. I'm probably way off though.

"I wave my flag and sound the alarm Somebody stop me before I do any harm"

Well, I think that is about God... definitely! well, I suppose to be a christian person, but sometimes in my life I just feel like this song says in "I see you, on your cloud looking down.." thing. It's like he looks at you but he doesn't help you and you ask yourself why, why he makes things happen. I think that jacoby is having some kind of frustration and he can't take it anymore and he wants to tell about it, seeking for help, but He don't notice him.

Im surprised. I didn't think Papa Roach would lyrics like "God, I am done with you."

Does anyone know what this song means?

It probably means he knows that he's been acting out his good faith(I know i've been a pretender) but he knows he does wrong, he wants to fix his life(Crash and burn n’ S.O.S Somebody help me get out of this mess of a dead life) ^^^ Little iffy about that but the last verse is pretty straightforward.

"I see you in your cloud looking down, I am on my knees today, but you don't notice me, I'm screaming while I pray" (He sees god, he is trying his hardest to speak to him but doesn't believe that god is in fact listening. So he's like fuck it I'm done with trying to speak to you) "I'm am sick of you, god, I am done with you) or something of that nature...

I think the last verse is probably about somebody who looks down on you

I would probably have to agree a little bit with Hydbrid Sinister..

I dont think its so much about God and finding religion and how Shaddix thinks that perhaps God is judging him in some way.

But more that he thinks that he can never get rid of this girl in his life, and that he is hurt by her

"Watch me carve my hate In the heart of a lover I feel like I can never escape my fate"

Towards the end of the song, he feels as if he will never be as good as her, and that she continually looks down on him and all he does, (i see you on your cloud looking down, im on my knees today)

And he gets more emotional which you can tell by the vocals and realises she isnt even worth it "im sick of you.. God, i am done with you" and then realises he will never be happy with her, but the song ends on a peaceful tone with hope for the future..

Thats just what i think, because i dont think its so much about religion or God in that way..Im probably horribly wrong but its the way i interpreted what jacoby was trying to say..

actually, i think absolutely 100% rite. either its a girl who treated him wrong, or a girl he's in love with but she doesnt realize the enormity of his feelings. "See you on your cloud Looking down Im on my knees today But you dont notice me" this could be intreperted as he thinks of her as an angel, a godess. he resents her because of her ignorance. (lil sidenote: up 2 this part, i've been here b4) but towards the end, he definately realizes that he mite never get a chance 2 be with her, or possibley that he finally got his chance with her...

I'm new to this site and cant figure out how to edit the lyrics. Anyways: "My soul fight again" -> "My soul will fight again"

I think something needs to be added about how he tore himself up inside over girl/god (take your pick).

Sorry, it just bothers me when the lyrics are messed up. Anyways I don't think this song has anything to do with religion. In the lyric book it doesn't say "God, I'm done with you" it says "I'm done with you." Even if he did say god he probably didn't mean it religiously but more like someone saying "God I hate rude people" (Just an example but hopefully it makes sense). I think the song is talking about a girl more than anything.
