Feel It Now Lyrics
And all my sorrows awaken
And all my fear's run down
I turn myself into an angel
I run myself into the ground
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll feel it now
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll know it now
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll feel it now
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll know it now
And all the reasons invading
Twist and turn my aching soul
I leave myself behind in pieces
I know you'll need them when I'm gone
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll know it now
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll feel it now
I'll never see again
I'll never see again
The worst has come I'm fallin' in
I'll never see you again
I'll never see you again
The worst has come I'm fallin' in
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll feel it now
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll know it now
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll feel it now
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll know it now
And all my fear's run down
I turn myself into an angel
I run myself into the ground
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll know it now
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll feel it now
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll know it now
Twist and turn my aching soul
I leave myself behind in pieces
I know you'll need them when I'm gone
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll feel it now
I'll never see again
The worst has come I'm fallin' in
I'll never see you again
I'll never see you again
The worst has come I'm fallin' in
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll know it now
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll feel it now
I'm on my own I'm sure I'll know it now

LOVE LOVE LOVE this song! I think this song might be about suicide because of lines like: 'I turn myself into an angel I run myself into the ground' and that's the only way they can feel.
I love it too. To me it's not actually suicide, but more like retreating into oneself from despair. wishing he could break out of this space by flying or running into the ground. I can't really explain it.
To me it seems about suicide.
"I leave myself behind in pieces I know you'll need them when I'm gone"
Just sounds like suicide to me.
But good thing about good lyrics is it can be interpreted many ways.
It struck me from the first time I heard it as a regret song. Something's over - maybe a relationship, maybe life, but it's like he's sitting there observing all the feelings you feel when something important ends, and everything is changed for the worse.
I don't think they meant it to sound like it's about any particular thing, since there are so many reasons why you could feel that way.
The first time I heard this song was just after my father passed away. It fit like no other song could at the time. To me it is almost follows ones acceptance that they are going to die. I came to this conclusion when I related it to my father, he had been sick for a long time and was in pain. The first verse of the song just made me think of how he was emotionally during his last months and how he decided to live life until the end. The second verse when it says " I leave myself behind in pieces" makes me think of how one will leave his or her body after death and go on in spirit. And lastly the "I'll never see again" bridge section is just acceptance of the inevitable and how they just can't fight anymore. I don't know if this is what is meant but either way it is a truly beautiful song that allows one's mind to wonder and remember.
I don't necessarily think it's about suicide. "I turn myself into an angel" and "I run myself into the ground" kind of make me think it's not suicide per say but a destructive lifestyle in which you don't care whether you live or die that most likely will eventually lead to your death. Drug abuse, doing destructive activities, or just not caring about consequences are all ways to "run yourself into the ground" without actually committing suicide.
It's also possible because I live this lifestyle that I wan't the words to fit into place for me. But that's the great thing about music, it can mean what the listener wants it to mean.
I also think that "I leave myself behind in pieces" doesn't necessarily mean himself literally but his persona. When someone dies their belongings are left behind and we piece together what we really know about them by going through their things. If you've ever done this you know that you will learn a lot about someone that you've known for years and years that you never knew. Their belongings are little bits and pieces of their personality, their likes and interests personified in the items they chose to surround themselves with.
