I look at you, you bite your tongue
I don't know why or where I'm coming from
And in my head I'm close to you
We're in the rain still searching for the sun

You think that I wanna run and hide
I'll keep it all locked up inside
I just want you to find me
I'm not lost, I'm not lost, just undiscovered
We're never alone we're all the same as each other
You see the look that's on my face
You might think I'm out of place
I'm not lost, no no, just undiscovered

Well the time it takes to know someone
It all can change before you know it's gone
So close your eyes and feel the way
I'm with you now believe there's nothing wrong

You think that I wanna run and hide
I'll keep it all locked up inside
I just want you to find me
I'm not lost, I'm not lost, just undiscovered
We're never alone we're all the same as each other
You see the look that's on my face you might think I'm out of place
I'm not lost, no no, just undiscovered

this song is beautiful....i'll think about it and go....that's me. i'm not quiet but i'm silent....it kind of runs hand in hand with being lonely in a room full of people...

You think that I wanna run and hide I'll keep it all locked up inside I just want you to find me

some will think oh, she's being that way cause she's depressed or something...when really what you want is for someone to look beneath beyond what you are showing, what you want is that person who will search for you as a person. that person who will work to find who you really are inside. really, those people are few and far between these days.

but this song is super optimistic and i love it a lot!!! "i'm not lost, just undiscovered"

It's about someone quiet who people think is lost or uncomfortable or out of their depth. This song shows that is not true, they are really waiting for someone to realise their true potential and get to know their real personality. It's an optimistic song, unassuming at the beginning but with so much power at the end.

    I've always loved James Morrison.

His voice, it's so unique, and add that to the lyrics of his songs, it comes out as a fantastic mixture.

This is another song, where he tries to explain, from the worldly perception, he might be different, but no one has ever taken the chance/opportunity to truly figure him out. He is different in substance, because there are reasons, but characteristically, he's the same as anybody else.

This song touches me, because there are a lot of us out there, who have differing views and opinions, but it doesn't essentially mean we're any different from the majority. We might have a different take on things, but we're all human.

It also explains that the world , in general, refutes to understand the true potential of many of us, living by the general notions, many of us are "lost", because we're all set out to prove ourselves in our own distinct ways, but the rituals of the world confuses us, and we're left undiscovered.

    Overall, fantastic song.

This is what an artist does, puts feelings into words. We're not artists because we can't do that.

I agree with the above poster. It is about someone very quiet and shy, who goes unnoticed for most people and is waiting for someone to see his potential.

James Morrison's lyrics are so relatable. He's great.

I love this song, when listening to it, its very inspiring, puts a smile on my face every time, keeps us moving forward :-)

The lyrics are very straight forward for this song.

You see the look thats on my face You might think im out of place

This song is amazing, and I’m sure everyone must be able to relate to it in some way. Well put vickie_d. People may think they know what is wrong with you when really it’s much deeper than that. You need someone to realize and look beyond the surface. You behave in a certain way in front of people (reserved, shy etc…) and you may be seen as being like that all the time perhaps ‘out of place’ when really your not. We all feel vulnerable at times even the person who you may expect least to feel like that, which is what I think it is trying to say ‘we’re all the same as each other.’

Relating to no one, feeling no one is on your wave-length but overall knowing we're all the same.

I'm not lost, I'm not lost; just undiscovered.

This song is the anthem of my life. Amazing song, beautifully written. This song is about discovering your own potential to do whatever you want.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
