I interperate this in two different ways.... one is that it's a breakup song and two that someone died and the minutes that pass after knowing that the person is gone in death (or not) is very haunting.. love this song
My interpretation is that it's about when you go a bit crazy with sadness when you miss someone for whatever reason, and then do a load of drugs to try and fix your head.
You know like, I'm happy, so this drug is to bring me down a bit, I'm sad, so I'll take something to bring me up... I don't feel anything, I'll take something that will make me feel something.
