"White Rabbit" as written by and Grace Wing Slick....
One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice
When she was just small
When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know.
When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the dormouse said:
"Feed your head. Feed your head. Feed your head"

General CommentApparently, it's obvious what this song is about.

YAY! I'm the first to comment on this song! I discovered this song watching Queer as Folk. It's an awesome song.

My Interpretationi think on the surface it's definitely about drugs or is often inferred that way. however if you look beyond that there are a few metaphors underneath. the first thing i can think of is that the song is rooted with the story of alice in wonderland; which involves many things. it involves the power of imagination, being free, realizing who you are, and the fight against blind beliefs and greedy, cruel authority. you have to step out the boundaries and be on the outside looking in to see more clearly. like in dead poets society "you have to see from different point of view or angles.

of course, that's always dangerous and that's the vibe i always get from this song. it's edgy and willing to be whimsy and different.
