I Can Get Us Out of Here Lyrics
Jenny lights her cigarette
Wonders how she got in this mess
Saturday night - wrong side of town
C'mon babe don't look so sad
You know it ain't half that bad
Just set 'em up, and knock 'em down
C'mon babe if you don't say goodbye
I can get us outta here tonight
Come on, along, come on
Along, come on, along
Long legs use 'em and run
Blue eyes that blind like the sun
I might not be the one
But that's alright
I can get us outta here tonight
Don't look back don't hesitate
Car's outside and we can't wait
Sunday morning is coming down
I can take you away from this
You got your life, he's got his
Just set 'em up, and knock 'em down
Wonders how she got in this mess
Saturday night - wrong side of town
You know it ain't half that bad
Just set 'em up, and knock 'em down
I can get us outta here tonight
Come on, along, come on
Along, come on, along
Blue eyes that blind like the sun
I might not be the one
But that's alright
I can get us outta here tonight
Car's outside and we can't wait
Sunday morning is coming down
You got your life, he's got his
Just set 'em up, and knock 'em down

I wonder why no one has commented on this song. This is one of my all-time fave Lucero songs.
I love this song as well and I've been there.
I think the song is pretty self-explanatory. It sounds like the proteginist is into this "Jenny" who keeps ending up in the wrong place, at the wrong time. Sounds like it could also be a metaphor for a broken heart, that is Jenny has one and he just wants to at least help her get away from it, if not just for the evening and he'll worry about the consequences tomorrow.
It doesn't hurt that I love songs with my name in it as well, though.
