It's nights like these that make me sleep all day
It's nights like these that make you feel so far away
It's nights like these when nothing is for sure
It's nights like these I don't want you anymore

And I've only got this one wish
That I was good enough to make you forget
The only boy whoever broke your heart
'Cause nights like these tear me apart

It's nights like these the sad songs don't help
It's nights like these your heart's with someone else
It's nights like these I feel like giving up
It's nights like these I don't seem to count for much

And now I've only got this one wish
That I was good enough to make you forget
The only boy whoever broke your heart
'Cause nights like these tear me apart

The beer tastes like blood and my mouth is numb
I can't make the words I need to say
She had a weakness for writers
And I, I was never that good at the words anyways

And now I've only got this one wish
That I was good enough to make you forget
The only boy whoever broke your heart
'Cause nights like these tear me apart

his girl is still heartbroken over another guy, and he can't do anything to make it better - which makes him feel like shit. "I wish I was good enough to make you forget the only boy who ever broke your heart"

best sad song ever. only lucero could pull it off. the guy is trying to forget the girl who will never remember him... because she's too busy remembering her old relationship. well it's better than that, but that my interpretation.

I always listen to this song on nights like these ya know.. when you just feel like the world is against you. it's a nice song to help you through the bad times, so you're not the only one that feels that way.

i'm prett sure it's about how he wants one of his ex-girlfriends back after he broke their heart. "Now I've only got this one wish, that I was good enough to make you forget the only boy who ever broke your heart," meaning he wishes he could take back something that he did and that he wants her back.

this song acctually reminds me a lot of my life. i think its about him and he cares about this girl, but shes stuck on another guy, and she cant stop thinking about him, and he feels terrible like he can never amount up to him, so by her holding onto something that doesnt matter shes puching anything else away. like him.

There's always somebody else that she would rather be with. That's just the way life is. It sucks really bad, but that's how it is. So you try to sleep through the pain; you try to convince yourself that you no longer want her; you try to drink the pain away. Nothing works.

So this song is def about this dude who fucked up in a relationship a while back or maybe she made the mistake but he took actions in his own hands to call it quits, and he broke her heart & his at the same time..but he wants her back and loves her, & for some reason - it just wont work
