I think I love this song.
I think there should be no question that this song is about the speaker taking a girl's virginity, and I think he feels at least a littl sorry for it.

Beautiful song because I think Northstar really depicts the first time how it is for a lot of people... it's pleasing, but at the same time it's awkward, confusing, and a little scary. Northstar had amazing talent when it came to lyrics. Too bad they broke up.

Its about a husband who is miserable with his life and as a result, gets drunk and beats his wife as a way to very his frustration and stagnation. He refers to kissing his exit wound and exit wound of course being a scapegoat refers to his wife/ lover. Staggering off his love of love, romance, and valentine ways signified his change as he gets drunk. As he adopts his symptoms of intoxication he looses his sense of right and wrong and awareness of the people he loves. As for the suicide reference, it could signify his guilt for doing what he has done of refer to the misery that is his life. Just an all around beautiful song. My favorite. :D
