Staggering off his love of love, romance, and valentine ways signified his change as he gets drunk. As he adopts his symptoms of intoxication he looses his sense of right and wrong and awareness of the people he loves. As for the suicide reference, it could signify his guilt for doing what he has done of refer to the misery that is his life. Just an all around beautiful song. My favorite. :D
