This tune is so cathy and amazing from the young knives who promise to be a great new indie band! the meaning is pretty obious about the summer and those booring days of getting drunk hanging around and feeling like shit but having a great time!

i think they're talking specifically about those days in the summer when it's really lovely & hot outside but you have to go to school/work/college- hence "what a bummer"! & which is why they "live for the weekends" cos they won't be working or the "bleak days of illness and pain" cos they can be home from work/whatever... & the evenings are the "best part of the day" cos they can come home & chill out in the sun :) does anyone else get me?! xXx
yea thats what i think, its mainly about it being crap not being able to do what you want, being stuck inside working, and looking forward to being ill, and obviously the weekend and eveening, where u have some time for yourself
see, i agree with the idea that it takes place at the beginning of school or w/e, but i think the person longs for the weekends/bleackdays so they can get away from the people because they miss what happend over the summer, and now that things are back to school, everything's the same again. it sounds like something happend over the summer that was out of his control (what i feel it's not important), so that's how i interpreted it.
