River Lyrics
Touch the last of what is past
Moving silent water feel the first that comes
Slow and winding, flowing free
Peaceful music in its sound of distant drums
Trust the shallow virgin stream
Danger wild, beware the deeper it becomes
Moving highway, twisting byway
Can't turn back
Singing in the summer rain
Rain that's caught in it's flow
Spreading, shining, silver lining
Gold on black
Echoes moods of the moon and sun
Sun that shines from below
Makes a soft and easy way
Left to choose its path will always be a friend
Touch the last of what has past
Never idle river drifting to the end
Moving silent water feel the first that comes
Peaceful music in its sound of distant drums
Danger wild, beware the deeper it becomes
Can't turn back
Singing in the summer rain
Rain that's caught in it's flow
Gold on black
Echoes moods of the moon and sun
Sun that shines from below
Left to choose its path will always be a friend
Touch the last of what has past
Never idle river drifting to the end

Is the river being used a metaphor for our life? To me this is what it is suggesting, or it could be taken more literally I suppose (describing the natural beauty and revere for a river).
Either way, I really love the music throughout this track ... has a more rock signature than many of their other tracks (esp. the riff around 3:45 minutes in).
The only line that really has me stumped though is "Gold on black" ... can't really understand that at all (or come up with any interpretation).
