You Fight Me Lyrics

You fight me
Flat on my lonely face I fell
Finding in the end I live well
In the light of the life that I have found
It's coming down
I don't know what isn't real
But it's easy to beat me (suck it in)
Life is sink or swim
Love is blinding
No surviving
I don't know what I want to be yet
But I can show that I need to see this.
No time for lies and empty fights
I'm on your side

Can we live a life of peace and happiness?
I don't think so
No denying I'm scared to lose the things I love
I'm in control.

This is how
this is how it's gonna end
This is how this is how it's gonna end
End

Everyone is waiting here
for everyone
leave me alone.

THis is how
This is how it's gonna end
This is how
This is how it's gonna end
This is how
This is how it's gonna end

NO

This is how
This is how it's gonna end
End

This is what i think the song is about: People are always fighting each other because they are afraid to lose control or fall behind. "No denying I'm scared to lose the things I love / I'm in Control" They disregard how defenseless or weak the people they are hurting are, because they are so focused on themselves. "I don't know what isn't real / But it's easy to beat me" People fail to realize that we are all essentially on the same side and should be working together to progress ourselves instead of fighting each other. "No time for lies and empty fights I'm on your side" We all know what is wrong in the world but we all wait for someone else to step up and try to fix it instead of doing it ourselves, and when provided with the opportunity to help we just want to be left alone. "Everyone is waiting here for everyone / leave me alone" In the verses, Ben sings as a victim of all this selfishness, but is also guilty of his own selfishness. Then he shifts into a narrative voice saying "This is how it's gonna end", which is saying that if this selfishness continues to corrupt humanity then that is how everything will end.

A Very sad song. Sounds to me like a break-up song or one of regret. Good one!

This song to me is about liking to be in control, but finally at one point in your life you've come across a situation in which you had no control over anything and you're fed up. Towards the end of the song he's saying possibly that "This is how it's going to end" b/c he's going to choose what happens in his life and not be ok with anything other than what he chooses in the end.

I believe these are the full and correct lyrics.

I love the ending, where he just repeats "This is how it's gonna end...." over and over again. Even though it's not what the song is about, it seems semi-apocolyptic, reminiscient of T.S. Elliot's "The Hollow Men": "This is the way the world ends - not with a bang, but with a whimper."

This song is just so powerful to me. It's so dark and brooding.

It has an industrial goth type feel, and the Piano lines are just so menacing.

I think this song touches alot of different areas. I'd have to break it down by line by line almost. this songs mood and subject matter reminds me of "Boiler" by Limp Bizkit. Wuite possibly LB's BEST song. Even if you don't like LB, you'll like boiler.

this songs subject matter touches on love, being fired upon by someone you love and whom you are "sided" with. Hence the "No time for lies, and empty fights. I'm on your side"

It also touches on this relationship having no chance (or at least, a very small chance) of making it "Can we live a life of peace and hapiness? I don't think so"

And the urge people seem to have to ALWAYS be together with someone, in a relationship. Like they NEED to be with someone to prove their worth, and to prove they are desirable. Hence the "Everyone is waiting here for everyone. Leave me alone"

I can go on, but this is long enough.....sheesh.

Sometimes you want friendship or love to work out, but it doesn't stand a chance. So you get the hell out of that situation, and you learn from it. And there is so much bitterness in this awesome song.

"No denying I'm scared to lose the things I love I'm in control.

This is how this is how it's gonna end"

I disagree with most people. When he says "this is how it's gonna end" he reinforces the statement that he is in control . Saying that he will control how it ends.

The beginning gives off a vibe of being alone in a dark deserted city in the rain. I love the beginning. It reminds me (if anyone has played this game before) of FFVII Dirge of Cerberus when you're in Edge.

A mix between Break My Fall and Believe. Being in control while being afraid to lose the things you love.. = true fear?
