Die Schlinge Lyrics

Oh ich kann nicht mehr
ich weiss, ich werde brennen
Dein Urteil hat sich längst
um meinen Hals gelegt

Oh ich kann nicht mehr
ich weiss, du wirst mich hängen
Und die Schlinge ist so eng
dass ich kaum noch atmen kann

Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod
Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod

Oh ich kann nicht mehr
mein Schicksal ist besiegelt
Dein Fluch schwebt genauso
wie der Galgen über mir

Oh ich kann nicht mehr
der Himmel ist verriegelt
Doch jetzt weiss ich nicht mal mehr
ob die Hölle mich noch will

Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod
Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod

Gib mir ein letztes Mal
spiel mir das Lied vom Tod

The title means "The Noose" in German.

English translation: Oh I can't anymore I know I'll burn Your decision laid itelf Around my neck long ago

Oh I can't anymore I know you'll hang me And the noose is so tight That I can barely breathe

Play me the song of death Play me the song of death

Oh I can't anymore My fate is sealed Your curse is floating exactly Like the Gallow over me

Oh I can't anymore Heaven is locked And I don't know anymore Whether Hell still wants me

Play me the song of death Play me the song of death

Give me one last time Play me the song of death

it's about knowing that someone has made up his/her mind about you but hasn't said that yet. and you're just waiting to her it and that kind of kills you, because you know he/she will leave you (or wathever) and finally you're just begging for redemption. (because when the person has said it to you, you can let it go.) in "Spiel mir das Lied vom Tod" ("Play me the song of death") "tod" (="death") stands for the end of your relationship, friendship, whatever.

It's a version of Erico Morricone's Soundtrack of "Once Upon a time in the west", where it tells that one guy's last thoughts before he hangs.

This has got to be my favorite song of Oomph!'s. At the very beginning, Dero sets up the entire song with just a sigh- which is beyond awesome, in my opinion. It makes me very sad that there aren't more comments here.
