Another song that relates to how I feel :).

for me this a relationship between a boy and a girl.

He is saying that his hands are broken due to having to deal with the stress she is giving him. Time is going on and on and on and he just wants his time to end. So he tried to make himself happy and live his life instead of sitting feeling sorry for himself.

The chorus is him speaking to the girl. he says she needs to promise him she'll try to forget him when he commits suicide. he has elected hell and his mind is set on this being whats right for him. he's become blind to all of the things that made him happy and he is asking for help but then gives up on the help and tells himself to leave it all behind as he wont worry about it soon. Then he returns his focus onto the girl and suddenly his mind is confused he can only say "you".

Now he is back to his frustrated state of mind and is explaining to the girl that the only way to live happily is to let life hit you a few times and not to block out everything. then he tells her not to die forgotten this must mean that she should find someone else to remember her and love her. Then he reverts back to the situation. He is down on life. he states he is alone in the way he feels and that he wants her to forgive him for leaving her like this. Its not the way he wanted it but its how its happening. He sees his choice of death and says he is going to end the sorrow soon.

Once again he makes her promise she'll try to be happy without him. He repeats the fact he IS going to take his own life and is still wondering why he has lost the things he had.

"you" one more time this word confuses his mind. he repeats it until finally he sees that the only thing he had was her. but its too late he's commited suicide.

I dont know if Ben is talking about himself at all, but I think that the song is about how he wanted to be with someone so bad, that put himself throught quite a bit of pain. He says that he "elected hell" which makes me think it was a concious choice he made. He doesnt know how long it will take to get over her, so he's encouraging her to try and get over him as well. Thats what I get from it at least.

I think I lean towards this song being about a girl that he really wanted to have a relationship with but things didn't work out. I think that fits in with the general theme of the album better then the idea of a drug problem. This song follows Diary of Jane and Breath which are both about relationships gone sour somehow.

Either way, I really love this whole album. Breaking Benjamin has really come a long way with their music, easily one of my favorite bands.

It's actually "live another life" not "living out a lie". This one is DEFINITELY about a relationship gone south. "forgive me my love" and probably about suicide "I stand here all alone and I can see the bottom".

f-fashions interpretation is very good...i guess you could also look at it another way, like... he could be talking about how he feels bad for cheating on his girlfriend or whatever, and wants her to forgive him...or something like that...

this song is definately about a girl, And a dude severely infatuated on her. he is begging her to please, leave ur life behind and be with me, but she refuses. and he goes on to be pissed at himself, and become addicted to drugs.

I think he is saying that his hands are broken because there is nothing he can do to fix either himself or the situation he is in. Even though time is still passing, he is stuck in the time of his despair. This could be before a drug problem, a traumatic event in his life, or someone who has caused him this pain. Since he felt there was nothing he could do anymore he gets high to bring himself back to a time he let pass by. I think he's talking to a loved one when he says you. I don't necessarily think its a girl, it could be anyone close to him including a family member or a friend. He elected hell because he is the one that chose this way of life which has cause him pain. He can't see his way out of this and he had lied to himself by pretending everything was ok for a long time by holding an emotional wall.

well the song talks about someone ben considers as "my love"....preferably this could be a girl. ben is saying how much he has screwed up his life and hopes that the girl who is concerned will be a better person by not making the mistakes he has made. to ben time keeps going on and he feels he is helpless (his hands are broken) and he keeps screwin up and realising his mistakes.he sees the downfall that will eventuate coz of his actions and sadly warns the girls to save herself.

f-fashion beat me to it. It may or may not be about drugs, but it's definitely a problem that completely screwed this guy over. So he's trying to warn someone else before they become like him.
