Life is so strange when you don't know
How can you tell where you're going to
You can't be sure of any situation
Something could change and then you won't know

Ask yourself
Where do we go from here
It seems so all to near
Just as far beyond as I can see
I still don't know what this all means to me

Tell yourself
I have nowhere to go
I don't know what to do
And I don't even know the time of day
I guess it doesn't matter any way

Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
Something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown

Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
Something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown

You ask yourself
When will my time come
Has it all been said and done
I know I'll leave when it's my time to go
'Til then I'll carry on with what I know

Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
Something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown

Life is so strange
Destination unknown
When you don't know
Your destination
And something could change
It's unknown
And then you won't know
Destination unknown

Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange
Life is so strange

    My Interpretation

    Facepalm

When I saw the name Song Meanings, I knew immediately they were not secretly on a mission to educate people about my clueless, subjective conjecture. Save that pollution for the appropriate social media-dumpster as well as the probable nonsequitur of biased, blubbering blatherskite as well as the easily offended tearful pleas. Your feigned outrage is irrelevant; especially if you weren't even born yet. Scores a perfect 10 on my generation's Dont Give A Shit list. You lazy little assholes act like u cant even Google better than an old fart like me, lol

Unless its your song, nobody gives a credible shit about your impetuous, unqualified opines. In spite of our generational values' contrast from 1982 til present time, you should have enough sense in your head to not have to be told that legitimate interpretations of song meanings, if any, truly belongs to those who created it. And I meant all the aforementioned in the nicest way possible.

NOW STFU AND PAY ATTENTION, GODDAMMIT:

From Dale's 2014 interview about the album "Missing In Action"

"Coping with the death of her brother has led Bozzio to bring up one of Missing Persons' biggest hits, which back in 1982 seemed like a slice of lightweight new wave pop, but now it has taken on much heavier meaning. "I wrote 'Destination Unknown' about this exact situation," she says, "knowing that someday I would pass away. It was just the way it was going to be. I wouldn't have a chance to say 'yes' or 'no.'"

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
