Yeah
You're funny
Yeah
You're cute but
Let's move on that's
All been proven

If
I left you
wouldn't miss me
I don't care shut up
And kiss me

Let's be clear on what we're doing
Not aware of what you're losing
I am sorry that you're stupid
I can't be your fucking cupid
Wanted not to want my dreaming
Want to stop this constant scheming
When I sleep you're always there
I wake up 'cause I'm kissing air

Yeah
You're funny
Yeah
You're smart but
Let's move on that's
Where we started

If
I left you
Wouldn't miss me
I don't care shut up
And kiss me

Yeah
You're funny
Yeah
You're cute but
Let's move on that's
All been proven

If
I left you
Wouldn't miss me
I don't care shut up
And kiss me

I know that this is strange and new
I'm like a girl that's just like you
So just calm down and don't resist
I can't be soft enough to kiss.
Yeah I'm precious
Yeah I'm cute
Just pat my head and keep on moving
Going home, you won't miss me
I don't care shut up & kiss me.

Yeah
You're funny
Yeah
You're cute but now
I'm wishing you
Were stupid

I don't wanna think
Right now so
Let's be dumb
I'll show you how

Yeah
You're funny
Yeah
You're cute but
Let's move on that's
All been proven

If
I left you
Wouldn't miss me
I don't care shut up
And kiss me

haha i love it! it's about a girl who's already heard all the stupid lines and is so totally over it. she knows that guys are using her but instead of being like oh boo-hoo, she's like well fine, i'll just use him back. Basically she's calling out the guy in the song, but she still wants him anyway. The best line is "i'm like a girl that's just like you" because she's not sentimental or looking for love. she only wants ass, the same as this guy

To me, it's about not feeling anything. not caring if he likes you, just using him for whatever you want at the time... BUT my opinion may not be so pure, it has possibly been swayed by recent personal experiences.

this song so perfectly describes that feeling, when you have the biggest crush on someone and its just flirting, flirting going nowhere, and you're so frustrated, becuase you cant figure out wether this person is into you or not (going home, you wont miss me)until finally you just dont care anymore and want then to "shut up and kiss" you.

I wasn't sure about the meaning of that song (I'm not english / US), but thanks for the lyrics + answer from esme and therestillove. In fact I'm just feeling the same right now. Oh girls... :)

This song is def a twin to "Unfair" (a song she has been quoted as saying is about falling in love with someone who is already in a relationship) so it is presumably about the same person. Given the references to buying an apartment and not being able to see her love interest "after tonight," it's most likely that she's moving away and she'll "wait a day to break the bad news" (i.e. notifying him that she's leaving once she's already gone). And, of course, the fact that she sees in him a fellow "idealist" and "dreamer" (terms commonly given to people with the INFP personality on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) portends that she'll always be left wondering if they would've been perfect together.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
