Five Iron Frenzy Is Either Dead or Dying Lyrics

Five iron frenzy
They were good,
They were good,
They were really really really good

Five iron frenzy
And when you see them
We really really think you should

Thank them for being so cool and so awesome
And thank them for being so neato
Look at their teeth and then tell them to floss them
I think reese is wearing a speedo

RlElay, I don't understand what you're trying to say, but don't say anything bad about Relient K.

Anyway this song is a tribute to Five Iron Frenzy, the best band ever, the only band better than Relient K. This song is trying to be kind of like a FIF song in the way that it's kind of funny and stuff (it is pretty funny). That's just so cool that RK would right a song about this awesome band.

I love Relient K and Five Iron Frenzy.

RkElay, I have to admit, even as a huge RK fan, that you're right. But in this case it was intentionally bad.

i do agree that matt thiessen has become a better lyricist throughout the years, but if you're saying relient k "used to suck" and only now are good, you're quite mistaken.

sure, they've matured lyrically and musically - what band doesn't, for the most part? but just look at anatomy of tounge and cheek, even songs like "softer to me" and "charles in charge" - they still write very similarly now: witty banter and sarcasm mixed in with deep spiritual meaning and statements about life. not to mention that many of their songs (EVEN off of five score, though people try to say RK doesn't love God anymore) are straight-up worship.

this song in particular is simply a silly tribute to Five Iron, who was extrememly popular right around the time Relient K started as a band, and they ended up becoming close friends. the RK boys even played Five Iron's last show in Denver, CO.

this song was meant to be stupid, and pointless, while still talking about five iron in the most random and humorous ways possibly. i think we can safely say they succeeded.

Fivescore was one of their more blatant Christain albums. The others I had to dig deep to see the allegory in most cases, but Fivescore was awesome.

Listening to the style of the lyrics, it makes me think I can write songs too (not saying it's because they are simple, just an interesting approach)

But yeah. Relient K still loves God... Although who said they didn't I'd like to meet.

But Clarityofsuchgrace nailed it on the lyrics meaning.

Well, yeah. Getting Into You's allegory was fairly hard to figure out.

(sarcasm done) But no. People who say RK isn't christian anymore don't look (or listen?) beyond the surface. Or maybe they don't want to hear the message the guys are getting across. RK just gets better and better.

First off- I love this song. it's hillarious.

Second- I fail to see how K's slipped away or improved. Okay, so they have matured- if anything, MMHMM is proof of that. But their originals were good too. Wake Up Call- on their first album- is one of my favorite of their songs. And Anatomy and Two Lefts also have a great mix of hillarity and seriousness. One of my favorite aspects of Relient K is that even through some humourus songs they can have a serious message. Another thing is that the messages are often subtle. You can like the song just for the song, and then see the meaning and like the song a lot more.

And Five Score wasn't a bad album- mind you I only have half of it.
