Never Too Late Lyrics
This world will never be
What I expected
And if I don't belong
Who would have guessed it
I will not leave alone
Everything that I own
To make you feel like it's not too late
It's never too late
Even if I say
It'll be alright
Still I hear you say
You want to end your life
Now and again we try
To just stay alive
Maybe we'll turn it around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late
No one will ever see
This side reflected
And if there's something wrong
Who would have guessed it
And I have left alone
Everything that I own
To make you feel like
It's not too late
It's never too late
Even if I say
It'll be alright
Still I hear you say
You want to end your life
Now and again we try
To just stay alive
Maybe we'll turn it around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late
The world we knew
Won't come back
The time we've lost
Can't get back
The life we had
Won't beat us again
This world will never be
What I expected
And if I don't belong
Even if I say
It'll be alright
Still I hear you say
You want to end your life
Now and again we try
To just stay alive
Maybe we'll turn it around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late
Maybe we'll turn it around
'Cause it's not too late
It's never too late (It's never too late)
It's not too late
It's never too late
What I expected
And if I don't belong
Who would have guessed it
I will not leave alone
Everything that I own

It's never too late

The best thing about music is you can pretty much interpret it however you see fit..
To me, this song (including my interpretation of the video) is about maybe someone Adam loves who's parents died as a child and someone (it could be a foster father, god father, uncle, etc.) molested her. When she got older, she used drugs (probably trying to commit suicide) and ended up in rehab/mental institution. The song title, "Never Too Late", referring to the idea that it's never too late to change or turn your life around.
This world will never be What I expected And if I don't belong Who would have guessed it? (As a girl, she never dreamed she would be in the position she was put in and she feels like an outcast) I will not leave alone Everything that I own To make you feel like it's not too late It's never too late (Adam is saying that he can't change her life for her, she has to be the one to decide that)
[Chorus:] Even if I say It'll be alright Still I hear you say You want to end your life (He's trying to give her the courage to keep going by telling her "it'll be alright" but she still considers commiting suicide) Now and again we try To just stay alive (Straightforward, he can relate to her and knows what it feels like to just try and stay alive instead of actually living life) Maybe we'll turn it all around 'Cause it's not too late It's never too late (Adam is saying it's never too late to turn their lives around and for things to get better)
No one will ever see This side reflected And if there's something wrong Who would have guessed it? (She is able to hide her sadness, grief, and suicidal thoughts to the point that no one would guess that's what she's constantly thinking about) And I have left alone Everything that I own To make you feel like It's not too late It's never too late (Adam has tried everything he can to make life better for her and give her the strength to carry on)
[Chorus]
The world we knew Won't come back The time we've lost Can't get it back The life we had Won't be ours again (The girl won't get her innocence back nor the time she had with her parents, when things were well and happy. He's saying she just has to accept that..)
This world will never be What I expected And if I don't belong (Again, both Adam and the girl thought life would be different)
Even if I say It'll be alright Still I hear you say You want to end your life Now and again we try To just stay alive Maybe we'll turn it all around 'Cause it's not too late It's never too late Maybe we'll turn it all around 'Cause it's not too late It's never too late (It's never too late) It's not too late It's never too late
(^^ He's repeating that things can and will change for the better if she just puts her mind into it)
This is just my opinion, I can really relate to this song. It's so beautiful <3
That's a really good intepretation.

@SumeTrent... Got that off the video right? Take out a few things in your summary - car accident, parents death, foster parents but keep the relative - and you'd be far more accurate.

@SumeTrent I really like ur interpretation of this song coming from the words and the video ...but I have a question on the part where the guy starts to fight the black angle wit black ink...what's ur interpretation on that part?....

I think this song is about having someone you are close to be suicidal. And you are depressed too... but youre trying to convince them "it will be all right". You're trying to tell them that they can turn things around and that it's "never too late"
@rainbow777 yeah my sister is going through something kinda like that. I just keep telling her that whatever happens we will always be there for her and that she doesn't need to be suicidal anymore

This song is actually about a close friend of Adam Gontier the lead singer of 3DG
I was listening to 3DG on the radio talking about their new album and Adam said this song is very personal to him and his favorite on the album. He was saying that one of his close friends came up to him awhile back and told him that he hated his life and felt that there was nothing to live for or no point in it so he wanted to end it. Adam wrote this song for him stating it's not too late..never too late to turn your life around and see the better things in it.
@3dgfanatic That is insane, but I think that this was a really great thing to do for a friend when they felt like they wanted to end their life. This is also one of my favorite songs from every song 3DG made.

this song holds something personal for me as well and i dont know what... i mean i just cant put a finger on it... maybe its cuz we all feel a little like we cant go on at times... maybe its just cause i have been in the position of both the speaker and who hes speaking to... maybe it is only cause its so real... at any rate i love 3 days grace i love this song and i want that cd!!
I love the start of the chorus
this is just one of those EPIC songs.

Me too
Me too
This song screams power from beginning to end, it's meant to show that even in the toughest times where you feel like nothing is worth it, or like you should give up completely, there is always hope, there is always a reason to push through.

One of my favorites by 3DG. Powerful song!
This one could be taken a lot of ways. I don't like the way some make it a relationship because its a so much deeper song than that. It could be about just about everyone when they have a day they feel like they cant go on but they can. It could be about someone thinking about suicide and the other trying to convince them not to. I see it as someone who is kind of depressed and having only one person being able to tell and fooling everyone else "No one will ever see, This side reflected, And if there's something wrong, Who would have guessed it" and the other person trying to help. It could have any meaning really.
a very emotional song saying to me that the women he loves cant feels like she doesn't belong in the world and he feels the same way but he know that something good will come out of it so he's trying to give her strength to keep on fighting and go on
Compassionate? Power in Words?
Sounds like he's actually talking to someone in particular to me. Cause he has a little tremble in his voice that makes it sound so real.
