Not too crazy about love songs
Never been into that kinda stuff... no
This one’s got me conflicted
Feel like I’m addicted
This sadness self inflicted
I just can’t get enough

Now it’s taking on a whole new meaning
This time the story cuts a little too close to home
'Cause this song is all about us
How could they know about us
What happened was just between us
Now the whole world knows
'Cause it’s all over the radio

Cuts me deep with every word
Saddest song I’ve ever heard
I can’t help myself
I keep coming back for more
Drowning in the melody
Makes me feel like I can’t breathe
I can’t save myself
The only time I’m close to you is when
I hear a song I’m addicted to
So I keep coming back for more

Somebody’s makin’ a fortune
Selling emotions to fools like me... who
Relate to what their sayin’
Obsessed and can’t stop playing
No use in changing stations... no
Cause it’s everywhere on the radio, the radio, the radio

Cuts me deep with every word
Saddest song I’ve ever heard
I can’t help myself
I keep coming back for more
Drowning in the melody
Makes me feel like I can’t breathe
I can’t save myself
The only time I’m close to you is when
I hear a song I’m addicted to
So I keep coming back for more
I keep coming back for more
Hits me harder every time
Just notes and chords and words that rhyme

I’m not too crazy ‘bout love songs
This type of story cuts a little too close to home
Cause it’s all over the radio, the radio, the radio

Cuts me deep with every word
Saddest song I’ve ever heard
Try and shut it out
It keeps coming back for more
Drowning in the melody
Makes me feel like I can’t breathe
I can’t save myself
The only time I’m close to you is when
I hear a song I’m addicted to
So I keep coming back for more

Clay needs to record this song, For some reason, I don't really get it, yet I love it. What I wonder though, is this song about him? And some person he's dating? But technically, it's not a actual song he heard on the radio? I don't know.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
