Eight years later
Time goes by fast
Got my memories
And they will last
I try to keep it simple
Cause I hate goodbyes
I try to keep it simple
By telling myself

That
I, I will remember you
And all of the things that we've gone through
There is so much I could say
But words get in the way
So, if we're not together
I will remember you
I will remember you

We're a picture
In my mind
And when I want to find you
I just close my eyes
You'll never be that far from me
So don't say goodbye
Cause you'll never be that far from me
I'm telling myself

That
I, I will remember you
And all of the things that we've gone through
There is so much I could say
But words get in the way
So, if we're not together
I will remember you

You were there when
I needed a friend
Thank you, thank you
I never told you
How much that meant
Yeah thank you, thank you

I will remember you
And all of the things that we've gone through
There is so much I could say
But words get in the way

So, I.. I will remember you
And all of the things that we've gone through
There is so much I could say
But words get in the way
So, when we're not together
I will remember
When we're not together
I will remember you

I will remember you

Whoa! About half a year later no one has added a comment? This is a great song and I'm sure that everyone has a meaning for it. The title pretty much tells the song.

This song reminds me of my best friend from elementary school. I was really good friends with him but one day I had to move to a new school. And I moved to many schools, and I hated it! We still kept in touch on e-mail which was great. Then he told me that he was moving to a new school too but worse... moving to a completely new place! I was crushed. Then on, we didn't e-mail or talk on MSN that much... We drifted apart. I know everyone hates that part. As the years went by quickly, one summer I signed online on MSN and right when I was on, he spoke to me. It was a short conversation but it will always be special to me. I'm not in touch with him anymore but I wish I was... Whenever I hear this song I think about him. But somehow, I know that I'll see him again, I just know it.

i love this song. it's sad to hear, because it's true that people grow apart, and it's never easy. he's talking about how he has a friend who will forever be a part of him. no matter what happens. and he will always remember everything about their time spent together. great song!

I love this song. I heard it on So you think you can dance, which usually picks really good songs for when people are leaving. It reminds me of my senior class and how we weren't all so close, but we all knew each other in one way or another. Its like, on graduation day, you're all welled up with emotion and you don't know what to say, but the most important thing seems to be that you will remember them all. And in SYTYCD, the bonds they make with people on the show, working with them and finding out about who they are, it makes it so much harder to leave, but its just important that they'll be remembered. When you leave high school to go to college its the same thing: you don't want to forget people, and they probably don't want to be forgotten either. Its when you may not be in touch with someone, but you still remember them. Its the thought that counts. The memories are so important. This song applies to so many things. It goes in the category with the awesome goodbye songs. Its just simple. Its hard to say goodbye, but its just important that people know that you'll remember them. So its all you have to say, instead of all the words that would get in the way.

I like this song. I used to love it, but now I just like it occasionally. I think this makes a great grad song, honestly. It makes me think of all my friends I had in old towns that I had to move away from because of my dad and the military moving him... it doesn't make me think of any friend in particular, but just about all the people that have accepted me enough to call 'friend' (or an 'acquainted friend')

This song made me freakin sob. I couldn't stop crying when I heard this. I think it could be about moving on, or breaking up. Anything involving leaving somehow. = (

Love this song. It can evoke that kind of warm, bittersweet feeling. First heard this song in So You Think You Can Dance S3. Ever since the song appeared as the bgm when the show finished, I couldn't let go of this song! I can so relate to the song as in:

Eight years later Time goes by fast Got my memories And they will last I try to keep it simple 'cuz I hate goodbyes I try to keep it simple but telling myself that

I, I will remember you And all of the things that we've gone through

All my friends met in high school, for seven years, I can't believe it's such a long time already! And there is someone I really love...I'll remember all of them. Those memories are so valuable, I know I don't show it usually, but we've built a bonding that'll be inseparable in our lives..'We're a picture in my mind'

When I think of school, despite the study and work, the school is composed of people, friends and teachers. So I'll definitely miss school, miss all of us in uniform, miss the picture of us, our class. Always the days.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
