Sundrenched World Lyrics
I can't get to bed
But I'm really tired
The things in my head
You used to admire
In your sundrenched world
It couldn't be worse
Don't bother asking
And here comes the nurse
While I'm trying to bask
In your sundrenched world
I'm talking to you
But you're not listening
I don't know what to do
My heart is blistering
Writing this song
Tell me I'm not wrong
I close up my mouth
When you're around now
Suffocating in doubt
I can't make a sound
In your sundrenched world
I always wanted to be
The one you looked to
For the answers in me
I'm the one who took you
To your sundrenched world
I'm talking to you
But you're not listening
I don't know what to do
My heart is blistering
Writing this song
Tell me I belong
It's all been said
Once before
We fucked around
On your bedroom floor
I'm talking to you
But you're not listening
I don't know what to do
My hands are blistering
Writing this song
Tell me I belong
Tell me I belong
Tell me I
Tell me I belong
But I'm really tired
The things in my head
You used to admire
In your sundrenched world
It couldn't be worse
Don't bother asking
And here comes the nurse
While I'm trying to bask
In your sundrenched world
But you're not listening
I don't know what to do
My heart is blistering
Writing this song
Tell me I'm not wrong
When you're around now
Suffocating in doubt
I can't make a sound
In your sundrenched world
I always wanted to be
The one you looked to
For the answers in me
I'm the one who took you
To your sundrenched world
But you're not listening

what an amazing song. I could listen to his voice all day long.
for some reason i feel like this song is about a relationship and the one person is insecure and feeling doubt in their relationship. And is asking for the other half in the relationship to tell him he's wrong and that things are fine. ??? I could also be way off.
definitely what babyglitz said, this is about doubt in a relationship. i can relate.
In one of his shows he said he wrote this song for when you help someone out and you do a lot for them, and then when they're all better they just move on and forget about it.
My interpretation:
Their relationship is constantly changing.
In the beginning they were good friends ("You used to admire"). They played with the idea of being more ("we fucked around"), but decided against it. He later realizes that he DOES want more, but she doesn't ("But you're not listening"). Now things just feel wrong. He wants to be more for her than she wants ("I always wanted to be The one you looked to").
This song is about me and the one i love. I love him forever and ever, but he is like a king and im just a minion to him. But he still wants me in opne way. But still its on his terms.
So the meaning is; He has given her all the love she needs in the world and she just gives him a cold sholder and that makes him think and he is going insane from lack of love from the one he loves.
I can't get to bed But I'm really tired The things in my head You used to admire He is laying in bed thiking off all that In your sundrenched world he has given her. She used to love him for his It couldn't be worse way of beeing , becasue that gave her strength. Don't bother asking And now he is at the hospital and she dont even care. And here comes the nurse and whild he is laying there trying to sleep the nurses. While I'm trying to bask and interrupts his way of being with her again... in
In your sundrenched world his head. thats the only way he can have her now.
I'm talking to you But you're not listening He is trying to explain to her how he feels and he cant
I don't know what to do reatch her heart. she keeps shothing him out. My heart is blistering That makes him hurt. He is trying to get hes feelings Writing this song down on paper, and he hoped she gets it. Tell me I'm not wrong
I close up my mouth When you're around now Suffocating in doubt When they meet after he is out side the hospital, he feels like I can't make a sound he is wort5h nothing at all. And he is afraid if he talks she is In your sundrenched world hate him. And he still wants to be the one she truns to for I always wanted to be comfort and help. She once needed him , but when he took her The one you looked to up and abowe she dont need him anymore. For the answers in me I'm the one who took you To your sundrenched world
It's all been said Once before He has said everything to he and she know that so she gives him We fucked around a fuck goodbye. On your bedroom floor
I think this song is about the cycle of a toxic relationship. In the beginning the one person was open and honest with how they thought or felt and the other respected and admired it(or so they said) I think sundrenched world refers to the honeymoon phase where everything is perfect. As time goes on the one who was open and honest in the beginning is now living a life of regret because they fell for the manipulation. The line "it couldnt be worse, dont bother asking, here comes the nurse while im trying to bask in your sundrenched world just seems like so much has happened because of the manipulator and that they are so beat down by everything they now rely on medication to make it from one day to the next. I think the manipulators "world" is constantly changing and the other person cant seem to catch up no matter how hard they try. The manipulator doesnt care, doesnt listen, and is too self absorbed to care about anything or anyone that doesnt fit into their picture perfect world.
there's so much emotion in this song.. I believe it's about a relationship that's over and he's replaying all the things over and over in his head. I could be way off
definitely what babyglitz said, this is about doubt in a relationship. i can relate.
Someone told me today that it said "nurse" not "nerves", and I thought maybe this was about someone in a mental hospital. Hence, "the things in my head you used to admire." The person might be obsessed with the idea of this person they love/loved. This reminds me of the book Dreamland by Sarah Dessen, whether it says nerves or nurse.
