Today

I think this song is about, well the way I took it, reminiscing and sharing our experiences. It can be about romance, platonic, or personal. Abstract lyrics often allow me make it about what feels better depending on my disposition. If I'm thinking about my life ambitions that aren't going according to plan, it fits well too.

As people come into fruition, they often compete more than they share. So history repeats itself with constant "war". Let's talk about it and understand each other, we disagree, and we can as well learn from each other.

Today, can only be sunk as in becoming felt and understood through meditation, each one knows in their own mind how they feel about the present depending on their reflections (of the past and their personal actions). So sometimes, Today can't be completely described, because the "yesterdays" describe today. It's like trying to explain a minute in one second.

We can either feel remorse about some past deeds or enjoy the present and strive for a prosperous future. If we ponder on lost opportunities we should focus on grasping the Today--cause it is the only to achieve new ones or get another chance.

"The light that goes into space," it's like what we do will ultimately have some reflection when we are gone. For the light keeps traveling until it eventually connects to something. It's up to you to propagate something positive or negative. I also look at it, as the present matters most, because we will eventually fade away, such as the light that goes into space.

This is probably the best song on the whole damn cd and the guys voice is damm good for the song. Hard to believe this is Zero 7, but I like the change in the flavor of the kool aid.

I'm not sure the meaning of the song, to me I think it's to say that we need to recognize and admire the fact we have right now to live our lives because the day we go is the day 'the light travels into space".

This whole CD is awesome, and if you're still wondering, the guy is José González. He is on the track before this one, Left Behind, as well. If you haven't heard his music, i suggest it. As a really huge difference though, his music is only acoustic guitar and vocal. I really like that; some don't...

agree to disagree...jose gonzalez has really cool stuff too. its very relaxed and chill...peaceful, its hard to argue with music like that. i mentioned this for the other track "future" but his voice works well for the tracks hes on, on this album...i just wonder what this song is about..

the song only makes sense if its something u have experienced...i cant expalin it but esp, like the chorus...have u ever felt like the words dont mean enough for us to say...its not tht their arent words to express..they just dont mean enough for u to put the energy to say wat ever it is tht they mean... to steal the moment that we gave a way is abt living life to the fullest before u become the light that travels into space..hope it helps
