I lie awake
I've gone to ground
I'm watching porn
In my hotel dressing gown
Now I dream of you
But I still believe
There's only enough for one in this lonely hotel suite

The journey's long
And it feels so bad
I'm thinking back to the last day we had
Old moon fades into the new
Soon I know I'll be back with you
I'm nearly with you
I'm nearly with you

When I'm weak, I draw strength from you
And when you're lost I know how to change your mood
And when I'm down you breathe life over me
Even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny

On a clear day
I'll fly home to you
I'm bending time getting back to you
Old moon fades into the new
Soon I know I'll be back with you
I'm nearly with you
I'm nearly with you

When I'm weak I draw strength from you
And when you're lost I know how to change your mood
And when I'm down you breathe life over me
Even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny

When I'm weak I draw strength from you
And when you're lost I know how to change your mood
And when I'm down you breathe life over me
Even though we're miles apart we are each other's destiny

I'll fly, I'll fly home
I'll fly home and I'll fly home

Okay, this may sound really weird, but Buffy fans maybe know what I'm talking about. When I hear this song, it reminds me of the relationship between Buffy and Faith. "we are each other's destiny" They both have the same destiny, and come on, despite all the fucked up things Faith did, they were sort of into each other, so they're also each other's destiny. If anyone, ANYONE at all ;), knows what I mean, please post it.

    My Interpretation

It's sort of already been said but this is what the song means to me (way lengthy). I think that this could be a happy but also a potentially sad song (depending on the direction that destiny takes).

This is what she sees and this is what she hopes/wants desperately wants to believe. It's all about her who is madly in love with her guy - she's never been able to figure out how he really feels for her, often convincing herself that it was nothing more to him then sex.

She can't stop thinking (lies awake) and she finally sees a clearer picture (comes to ground). She's always been confused between what it is (watching porn-sex) and what she wants it to be (dressing gown-romance). So she still dreams about him and what it could be. But as real as her dreams seem, she believes that she's the only one with the dream (there's only enough for one in this lonely hotel suite).

Her realization of unrequited love is slow and painful (the journeys long and I feel so bad). She misses him like crazy and thinks about him frequently, and she's confused because the last day they had seemed so perfect to her. She's going through change and doing what she has to do as quickly as she can (bending time) to get back to him. She's not sure if she's dreaming about the reality of them or not, but she strongly wants to believe that they were more, that are each others destiny.

But he is a part of her, so much so that he lives in her heart. Things have changed and things continue to change but she can still feel him everywhere she goes and in everything she does. She finds comfort in having him in her heart. And she believes that she's with him in the same way too (nearly with you).

They are a permanently a part of each other, forever bonded and together in heart even though they're miles apart (on different wavelengths of what the relationship was)... but on a clear day, she will find him and she will be new and what he wants so that they will be together because she so wants to believe that they ARE each other's destiny.

    OR...

This is what she sees in them and this is what she hopes and wants to believe. It's all about her who is madly in love with her guy - she's never been able to figure out how he really feels for her, often convincing herself that it was nothing to him - until there is enough space between them, and then she finally sees a clearer picture (comes to ground). As many times as they've been on and off, they can never seem to figure each other out. She perceives him with mixed feelings.

She will never be able to figure him out until she figures herself out first. She misses him like crazy and thinks about him frequently, in more ways than one but she's doing what she has to do as quickly as she can (bending time) to get back to him. She's not sure if she's dreaming about the reality of them or not, but she strongly believes that are each others destiny. I think that the hotel room is her way of saying that she's locking herself away until her long journey (finding herself) is over, and she feels so bad because she's so lonely without him (best friend), but there's only room for one right now (herself).

But he is a part of her, so much so that he lives in her heart. Things have changed and things continue to change but she can still feel him everywhere she goes and in everything she does. She finds comfort in having him in her heart. When she's feeling lonely (weak) she draws strength from her heart where he lives and through that sends him the love he needs to keep going. He is constantly with her in heart and she believes that she's with him in the same way too (nearly with you).

They are a permanently a part of each other, forever bonded and together in heart even though they're miles apart... so that on a clear day, when the long journey is over and the time is right she will find him (fly home) and they will be together because they ARE each other's destiny.

It's a hopeful song, but it could also be sad because she might be filling herself with hope/convincing herself that this is their destiny - because this is what she wants so bad, it's almost the only thing that matters. But as many of us know, things don't always work out the way we want them too and maybe once her journey is over, she might find that this is not even what she wants anymore.

This is such a great song for those that are either in a long distance relationship or are away from their S.O. I could do without the co-dependency, but I guess it's sweet in a way. I don't see the Buffy connection, FeyTH, sorry.

    Song Meaning

I first heard this song recently, and it has struck a chord with me. I'm breaking up from a 7 year relationship and we were supposed to get married in October. To me, this song is about the person in my future who I will finally be happy with, who I haven't met yet.

"The journey's long And it feels so bad"

This is what I'm going through right now, but I know it will end eventually.

"I'm bending time getting back to you Old moon fades into the new "

Even though I haven't met her yet, I'm desperately seeking her. The chorus is about the way we will be.

I just love the fact that she sings so sultryly and sweetly "I'm watching porn." There's something sooooo attractive about a sweet female voice singing about the casual viewing of debauchery. :)

I think this is a song about the break-up of two people... And these are all flashbacks, of her drawing strength from him... Anyways, it's a beautiful song. To see more information about this song and Zero 7, check out: zeroseven.tk

At the risk of sounding ridiculously cliche....this song speaks to me. I have been in a relationship like this in the past. Being apart from the person you care for. He is all you can think about. In a way, you are always together even when you are apart.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,
