Something I Can Never Have (NIN cover) Lyrics

still recall the taste of your tears
Echoing your voice just like the ringing in my ears
My favorite dreams of you still wash ashore
Scraping through my head til I don't want to sleep anymore

You make this all go away
You make this all go away
I just want something
I just want something I can never have

You always were the one to show me how
Back then I couldn't do the things that I can do now
This thing is slowly taking me apart
Grey would be the color if I had a heart

Come on tell me
You make this all go away
You make this all go away
I'm down to just one thing
And I'm starting to scare myself
You make this all go away
You make this all go away
I just want something
I just want something I can never have

In this place it seems like such a shame
Though it all looks different now
I know it's still the same
Everywhere I look you're all I see
Just a fading reminder of who I used to be

Come on tell me
You make this all go away
You make this all go away
I'm down to just one thing
And I'm starting to scare myself
You make this all go away
You make this all go away
I just want something
I just want something I can never have
I just want something I can never have

it's a NIN song....I don't think it's about God..

Seriously this is a Nine Inch Nails cover. It's about Trents sick obsession with a woman.

I actually think that this song might be about self-harm and depression... I think that just because of these lines though: "Grey would be the colour, if I had a heart" -Shows that the singer feels nothing... empty... grey "You make this all go away and I'm starting to scare myself" The self harm makes everything else go away, but it scares you because you're worried it's taking control or something along those lines. "I'm down to just one thing" It's the only way you can deal with it, to self-harm. "In this place it seems like such a shame Though it all looks different now I know it's still the same" How after you self-harm you might look at what you've done in a different light and see how bad it is. "Every where I look you're all I see Just a fading reminder, of who I used to be" And after you stop self-harming, you might feel like all you and everyone else sees are the scars. The fading reminders are scars that show how you used to be.

Well. That's what I think.

This song is NOT about god. That is final. god told me so.

its suppposed to be youll make this all go away. and this song is exactly what i feel when im going through my addiction to something (no not drugs, but something just as bad.)

i always feel like im gonna lose control and just go crazy and the only hope i have is asking god to please ''make this all go away". thats the only thing i have that makes me stay sane. god.

AND for those who dont think that they are christian, maybe you just relate to the song in a totally differemnt way, but that doesnt mean its not about god. like this song, it wouldnt make any sense to me if it wasnt about: asking god to make all the bad things in life go away. i mean who else would be able to make it all go away?

well, what's your addiction? this song reminds me of when I used to cut myself

I agree with all the comments about what this song means to them; but all I know is I stumbled across this song in the middle of something in my life and it spoke to me. I just ended a relationship with my boyfriend a few weeks ago. He was married, but getting a divorce I had spoken to his ex everything was legitimate just so no one thinks I was crossing any lines here. Well I felt God was leading me to end the relationship and we both started drawing farther away from each other emotionally and in the end it was a mutual decision. He immediately went back to his wife... don't get me wrong I am no longer with him so he can be with whomever he pleases but still... personally I am very happy to see them working it out to see any marriage make it is admirable to me. But recently I have started to miss him since he really was a good guy which is something I haven't personally experienced too much in the past; and so since I am missing him all of the sudden I have this fear that I may be coveting a woman's husband (which is the technical situation I am now faced with). Either way I have started wanting something I cannot have (not him exactly but that closeness love and intimacy) and God is the only one who can make this all go away... just saying. So it's a prayer it's a hard place to be, but it's a prayer none the less "Tell me you'll make it all go away because I don't want to want what I can't have I want to move on" amen

obviously this is the same as the Nine Inch Nails song. Being as this is a remake. it's about a girl that the guy can't have. or if you're a girl it can be the opposite.

This song is about God. And its obvious, why is because they are Christians, and its like she wants something she cant have, and she is looks torwards God to make it all go away if she gets what she can't have. Or so I think...idk
