omgsh, this is my favorite r&b song ever, i'm more into rock music so it's pretty weird for me to like a song like this sooooo much @_@, i think it's about having a relationship with someone, and it's coming to an end for whatever reason (fights, cheating, ect.) and you still love him but you have to let go. spending your last moments together, and just being broken up over it. ~bridgette♥

When I sing it, I sing it to the person he was who he's not anymore and basically says that the person he was isn't here anymore.
I've just listened to the song for the first time...and I loved it. Earlier today one of my friends gave me the lyrics, i just kept reading them all over again. It's just about that feeling when you realize it's over, but you can't do anything about it, and it's killing you...
This song is so beautiful and tragic. I know exactly what she's singing about. My friends think i'm soppy and sentimental for liking music like this, but thats why i love this site, cos there are others out there like me :)

I think its about a slow painful seperation of a relationship. Yet the artist does'nt want to loose their love. They are not sure how it happened,a nd they want to make it right but doesn't know how...
