Perkele (The God of Fire) Lyrics
I, I woke up
The God of fire woke me up
At the edge of burning ground
I'm, I'm damned
To put out the fire
My hand is a trap for that fire
It won't surprise me in my dream
My dream wakes me up, instantly
Without a word my hand is a trap
Trap for that fire
I, I drown it with water
I kill it on the spot
It won't have time to run far
It won't get away from me
The God of fire woke me up
At the edge of burning ground
I'm, I'm damned
To put out the fire
My hand is a trap for that fire
My dream wakes me up, instantly
Without a word my hand is a trap
Trap for that fire
I kill it on the spot
It won't have time to run far
It won't get away from me

I think this song may be about Kullervo getting the sword from Ukko (Perkele is just an early name for the same god) to kill his uncle Untamo, who is responsible for the death of Kullervo's Tribe.
no idea what this means
i just tried doing a bit of reading on Perkele and only found that he is the equivelant of the devil in finnish mythology. the site i was on didnt really have much information on him.
Perkele was the god of thunder in finnish mythology (like Thor in Scandinavia). It is now a swear word because it has come to mean "devil", courtesy of the Catholic church valiant efforts of turning every pagan symbol of pre-christian Finland into something evil.

Hmmm, almost sounds like Kullervo is determined to destroy "The God of Fire", but I thought the name of the guy he wanted to kill wasn't Perkele.
