Benjamin Lyrics
Rain falls outside
I think the sky must know what's happening tonight
Children born while fathers die
It's that circle of life that we all live in time
We've been friends for a long, long time
So if you can't talk, just cry
And know that we will talk on the other side
It's bitter cold outside
But the sun still shines 'cause we can feel it
Benjamin, you mark the life that was left behind
We see him in your eyes
And we will be friends for a long time
So until you can talk, just cry
And know that we'll be friends for the rest of our lives
He gives and he takes, and it makes us stronger
I think the sky must know what's happening tonight
Children born while fathers die
It's that circle of life that we all live in time
So if you can't talk, just cry
And know that we will talk on the other side
But the sun still shines 'cause we can feel it
Benjamin, you mark the life that was left behind
We see him in your eyes
So until you can talk, just cry
And know that we'll be friends for the rest of our lives

I believe this song is about one of the band menbers grandfather. I forgot witch one. But he died when sanctus Real was writing this cd. One of the other menbers wife had a baybe and another one got married. I read in a magizene that all of them were learning about love. In deaths, newbirths, marige. But this song is about death and how if you believe in Jesus you will go to heaven and you will be able to talk agian with the other believers. "And know that we will talk on the other side." The other side must be heaven. It is a great comfort to those who loose a loved one to know that they will get to see them agian. This song made me think about all the peole I love and wondering (will i be able to talk to them again?). It is sacry but maybe I should step out and ask. Just think????
i do believe it has a lot of mixed emotions but it has a kind of peace to it, you know? a man's child (named benjamin) is being born, while the man's father is dying. its a sad song, it really gets me thinking. absolutely beautiful.
while his song was being born his dad was a couple of floors up getting diagnosed with cancer thats what it has to do with the death. but its a great song none the less it also makes me think about all the people i care about
to me this song is about a grandfather dying as a man's son is being born and hes torn between being happy and sad. you see that where it says "It's bitter cold outside But the sun still shines 'cause we can feel it" Benjamin is his son's name, hes the life that was left behind because hes the one being born. it says 'and know that we will talk on the other side" means heaven and that we will all be reunited agian.
I saw them in concert last night. I believe it was the dummer. either the drummer or the guitarist. He was at the hospital and his wife was having their first child. He was so excited yet in the same moment, his father (the baby's grandfather) was in the floor and was terminally ill with cancer. Originally, the song did not have a bride, but the it was written by the grandfather after he was able to hold the baby. Beautiful song. It's a lot of mixed emotion, but it conveys something we must eventually deal with. The lord gives and the lord takes away
His voice is so amazing. Their concerts are pretty rad as well
"We've been friends for a long, long time So if you can't talk, just cry And know that we will talk on the other side ...and know that we'll be friends for the rest of our lives"
These are my favorite lines from the song. I recently lost a friend, and this song really makes me think about that and how even though it's hard to live without my friend, I know we'll be reuinted together in heaven someday.
