Novotel Lyrics

All the women in the factory
When their faces blow a fuse it's a miracle
i have to feed them facts to be alone
Magnifico!

Oh, fellas and umbrellas in the middle of the night
What you gonna do when the Mennonites bite?
Lock lips in the teddy boy's Chevrolet
Dutch tips and you're punked in the alleyway

Novotel, the phone's tapped anyway
Novotel, i need something of my own
No dice, i feed them facts to be alone and alone and alone, yeah

Smoke crack like Issac Asimov
Faux black delayed reaction of
Sure enough she's snuggling up to me
I've got to feed them facts

She never listened when I tell her that I wanna go
She should have come when I invited you to see my show
Gee it's a pity that your momma had to get away
I've got to break for the holiday

Down in the factory
I've got to bring them back to me
Cus if you care i don't want to come back to there

Down in the factory when their faces blow a fuse it's a miracle
I have to feed them facts to be alone
Magnifico!

And the women don't look back to me
I got a motel momma down in the cannery
I've got to feed them facts to be alone and alone and alone, yeah

Smoke crack like Isaac Asimov.

I have no clue what this song is about, it seems to a guy that feels like he is being suffocated by someone, or a group. So he is saying either weird facts, or lies to keep them from suffocating him.

Also I love the line about smoking crack like Isaac Asimov (prehaps an example of the lies he is using)

This song is mysterious...

I got the impression that the guy's being spied on. "Phone's tapped anyway" I think the idea of the "feed them facts" is that he's being watched, even the women he ends up with are just being used to spy on him, and he gives them little bits of info in order to keep them satisfied. This may be factual or a guise he puts up in order to keep himself safe. It sounds really noir or spy fiction to me.

this song is about smoking crack in hotel rooms.

the faces blowing a fuse is talking about hitting crack

adam green uses the alleyway as a reference to purchasing drugs over and over on jacket full of danger.

he's talking about females begging him for hits of crack. he feeds them 'facts' to be left 'alone'

the rest of the song is about the paranoia one gets after smoking crack

"Magnifico" - I truly believe that Adam Green is the only musician in the world who can use this word in his songs without sounding utterly stupid. Enough said.

Wow, I never got that impression, but it makes so much sense. I always thought it was about playing multiple girls at once.

Crack makes so much more sense.

"the phone's tapped anyway" Bob Dylan reference

I had my suspicions that it was than I read what everyone else said and it makes sense.
