I was at this gig in London and Adam said that, if he had been a girl, his parents were planning to call him Emily, so dancing with Emily is about wishing not to have been born

These lyrics are so wrong. As in they are not the right lyrics for this song. I know some of his stuff is non-sensical, but "on top a mountain they'd a bubblegum", really? Anyone who speaks English can hear that it's a mountain MADE OF bubblegum. And don't even get me started on "pidgeon's cum". So so so wrong. Adam Green is hard enough to interpret without all these glaring mistakes. :P

@Vikfor I'd say the "permission from the government" is a divorce - which is why he's gotta dance with Jennifer, and then Eleanor, in subsequent verses before he goes back to Emily.
