Gin And Milk Lyrics

I’m in to myself
On uncertain terms
I put gin in my milk
To kill all the germs
As I pray for the day
That life will return
And I pray for myself
But I never learn
No I never learn

See I really like you
But I’m nothing like you
I try oh so hard
But don’t get so far
You get my respect
But we don’t connect
Were in it together
So I’ll love you forever
I love you forever

And so it rains on

No one gives a fuck about the values I would die for
Not the faceless civil servants
The rudimentary crack whore
No one gives two fucks about the values I would kill for
Give them something to die for
Give me something to die for

You won’t really see me
I live in old movies
Cloaked tightly in sin
So they wont come in

Its like spying on cities
Through cracks in the floor
Thought I knew what the blag was
But now I’m not sure
What do I know anymore?

And no one gives a fuck
About the values I would die for
Not the baseist civil servant
The rudimentary crack whore
And no one gives two fucks
About the values I could kill for
Give them something to die for
Give me something to die for

Still I’m into myself
On uncertain terms.
I put gin in my milk
It kills all the germs
As I pray for the day
That life will return
And I pray for myself
But I never learn
No I’ll never learn

No one gives a fuck
About the values I would die for
Not the faceless civil servant
A rudimentary crack whore
No one gives two fucks
About the values I would kill for
Give me something to die for
Give me something to die for

No one’s too perturbed
About the things that I would cry for
I’ve been trying all my life
Until there’s nothing left to try for
No one’s too perturbed
About the things that I would live for
Give me something to try for
Give me something to try for

favourite, i think.

"I put gin in my milk To kill all the germs" i think that could be about dependancy on alcohol, and the 'germs' are depressing parts of life, and how the alcohol has corrupted and taken over even the innocent parts of life, such as the milk. also, the 'to kill all the germs' part could be an obvious excuse/denial/justification/whatever the word is of the alcoholism. also that he feels surrounded by 'germs', or negativity.

i can't believe nobody's posted on this yet, its my favourite on the album.

A great song, if only because it features the word "perturbed."

Love that bit. The acoustic one is great, Carls voice sounds brilliant.

Meaning? According to Carl it's about 'isolation and disillusionment with the world'. Make of that what you will.

This song sums up the frustration I have for people who aspire to be stupid clones, all they care about is shallow things and thier own tiny lives. "No one gives a fuck about the values I would die for" is like saying nobody cares about anything thats important anymore. "Not the faceless civil servant or rudimentry crack whore" is like saying he only has contact with people who are either completely corrupted and mindless ie. "faceless civil servant" or the other extreme of someone who has removed themselves completely from society "a rudimentry crack whore." "Give them something to die for" is like syaing give them a purpose, give them a mind and some passion to care about something, and the final line of the chorus "give me something to die for" is a critique of himself and how even he can be as apathetic as the people he is singing about. What do you guys think?

i love this song, cause in my more depressive times, i've always been of the fact that no seems to notice the things that matter - as long as its not important to you, it doesn't matter ie "And no one gives a fuck About the values I would die for Not the basic civil servant The rudimentary crack whore" that could either be taken as no one, not ever them. or as i like to take it, no one cares for my values or those who need help - ie the crack whores and the people who are so synchronised in their everyday lives...

love this song!!

deadwood is good too, and i now want that acoustic version!!
