Peregrine

despite the fact that this song is slightly repetitive, structure wise, it is one of the best tracks off Peregrine, ironically sharing the same name. this song is very imposing.

its not irony and nor is is repetitive, its rhetorical.

its emphasis. its making a point.

but i dont know what to do. or what to show you its something so old, and its cold, like stone.

its the fucking title track. get a fucking clue. start living life.

if you can't comprehend my comment, I would advise against criticizing my comprehension. I didn't even share what I thought this song was about, I merely stated that it was one of my favorite tracks off the album and that is ironic because it is my favorite album of theirs. I, however, feel that this song IS a tad ironic because it is talking about returning to someone (who the victim of this song had possibly mistreated) for either solace or retribution. the allusion to silas' knife is also evident in this song with the line 'with a knife in your side'. knives are one of the many motifs of peregrine, as well as being a big part of the artwork.

and what's saying that the emphasis itself isn't repetitive? that is a subjective matter. i hope you know that the cast's songs aren't centered around crisci's vocal placement, so the structure and repetition of the lyrics could very well have NOTHING with the meaning/power of the lyrics because it might've been repeated based on structural purposes of the song. How you interpret that however, is up to you.

i do not feel this song is anywhere close to bad, it appears as if you were extremely annoyed at my opinion of the song and made an obvious attack on me; interpreting my comment in the process. I’m sorry if it appeared that way, but it isn’t..

Wow, I am appalled to be of a class of music listeners that is made up of such incredible dicks. And that can't speak English for crap (interpritates? Come on. Even if it WAS a word it would be spelled wrong) On that note, I'm thinking this song is about the sole survivor of a horrible war, and he's trying to make his way back to civilization, but he is hindered by his wounds bringing him nearer to death. At the same time, it sounds like a person who is pondering suicide, and someone is trying to tell them how bad death really is. These both make more sense if you can hear the the third line is actually "stay alive". I'm thinking the narrator might be God. Who knows. I'm an incredible dick. Oh yeah, peregrine means "Roving or wandering; migratory." Kind of makes sense with the song and whatnot.

I just realized something else kinda cool. I'm sure it means nothing, but in the 4th line "so alone, come back", the left channel says "come back" but the right channel says "contact" again. Woo! I was the first one to find out this amazing discovery. What secrets have I uncovered? Who knows the truth about preregrine?! WHO?!!!!!

this song is about addiction "when you come back to me, you will be on your knees" if you've struggles w/ addiction that line resonates loudly. it hints at the point when an addict decides to use or abuse again, very haunting

This song is the part of the story where Peregrine, the daughter, continues to haunt her father as a ghost to the point of retribution for murdering her; and it ultimately ends with his demise. Not necessarily in this song, but in "A Fate Delivered."
