Shut Me Out

This song is great when we need confidence to be bold in sharing our faith in Jesus with others. Kutless makes the great point that "you may not like all I have to say But you cant prove that everything is filled with empty words" He reminds us also that though we get so petrified of telling others of the truth we know ("I know my life and inside how Ive changed"), "with all the hurting people that i see" it is so important to tell others of the truth. The song also reminds me to keep things in perspective: "Theres nothing you can say that will take me away from this life" - telling others about God wont kill you.. what is the worst that could happen except people laughing at you?

Its an awesome song, I agree with you Jesuz_luvs_u....Christians today are too "respectful" if they dont want to hear they dont have to...but its what they need....We've become too soft and afraid of confrontation...'peaceful' this should be something of our anthem.

This is a awesome song, I saw them in Tx at Tsunami! They had Them, Disciple, Falling up, and Stellar Kart! They rocked! But anyways... Yea I agree with yalls interpretation! Its like basically about spreading the faith og God and not being afraid of being shut away or embarassed. And like, Just wanting to scream your faith to the world and stuff! Lol, i'm not that good with, like, words... Well anyway much love to this song!!!

I love the defiance in this song. Right now, there is this huge group of atheists in music, TV, writing, etc. who "cant stand these things I'm preaching in the street". this song is a defiant cry saying "there's NOTHING you can do" to stop what i'm saying. It's like a battlecry for every Christian willing to speak the truth in the face of opposition (lovingly of course) with no fear whatsoever.

verse 1: He knows that others can't stand it when he shares his faith but wishes to share it anyway, because he knows that it can help people who are in pain.

bridge: If it means he can help others, he is willing to put up with what those who don't like what he says say. He will keep on telling people the truth he knows in the same way he has been doing so.

chorus: No matter what a nonbeliever/non-follower (if you will) says, he will not stop believing in God and following Him. Nothing will stop him from sharing the truth he knows.

verse 2: People who don't like hearing what he has to say can't prove that he is wrong. His life is evidence that he is right.
