I see the city lights all around me
Everyone's obscure
Ten million people each with their problems
Why should anyone care

And in Your eyes I can see
I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world
Lost in a Sea of Faces
Your body's the bread, Your blood is the wine
Because you traded Your life for mine

Sometimes my life it feels so trivial
Immersed in the greatness of space
Yet somehow you still find the time for me
It's then You show me Your love

And In Your eyes I can see
And in Your arms I will be
I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world
Lost in a Sea of Faces
Your body's the bread, Your blood is the wine
Because you traded Your life for mine

If only my one heart
Was all you'd gain from all it cost
Well I know you would have still been a man
With a reason
To willingly offer your life

I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world
Lost in a Sea of Faces
Your body's the bread, Your blood is the wine
Because you traded Your life for mine

Just one in a million faces

this song has a great msg, and i like the music as well. if they lyrics are good it always makes the music seem better to me. there msg is pretty obvious. there are millions of ppl in this world and every one of us have our own individual problems of life to deal with. sometimes life seems so trivial and you feel sorta like: how can little ol' me (lol) be something significant in the vastness of this world?but then when you think about the sacrifce that Jesus gave for mankind, you realize that you AREN'T just someone "vastly lost in a sea of faces." God knows us better than we even know ourselves and he loves us individually. when he says 'even if only my one heart was all you'd gained..." it further emphasizes his love for us... he would have stilled sacrificed his life even if he knew he would only gain one person, because he had a firm purpose to carry out---"u wuld have still been a man, w\ a reason to willingly give your life." now how could u reject that? He traded his very life for MINE. i am Not just a girl vastly lost in this world, lost in a sea of faces...

the song itself (musically) is kinda cheesy...sounds like everything else...lyrics are really good though... "your body's the bread, your blood is the wind, cuz you traded your life for mine" i like that line alot

I am not an extra in the movie of life, not to God :) I think that this is one of the most touching songs, especially the bridge, I've ever heard. It's funny how songs get better when you learn how to play them hahaha G > C9 > Em > C9 So beautiful when you play it acoustically

This song is, by far, THE best ever written by Kutless. It's one of those song's that just makes you cry, it's just that powerful. >

first off... Kutless is awesome... i love this song... its got a punk rockish sound... especially for Kutless... its got a good meaning to it... but the lyrics really don't go together that good... "Your body's the bread, Your blood's the wine, because you traded your life for mine" what does that have to do with the rest of the song? its a great song but the lyricist seems like he was trying to find somethin to rhyme and not somethin that made sense with the song... but i really love Kutless... Jesus died for you, do you live for Jesus?

The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
