she stares out the window
counts raindrops until tomorrow
today sees her crying
while Sting sings about the breath you take
she'll take fighting chances
run head first into a brick wall
cause what doesn't kill her makes it all just seem much closer

[Chorus]
she needs a crutch, needs a crush
feel the rush infatuation
she needs a way to feel the same that she once did
he needs a lot less than she seems to be
too much to handle
he won't say much
just leaving her in the dark
they should realize their clear demise
but that's hard to say

the tension gets thicker
the wine helps to counteract the pain
her whine makes him crazy
so crazy he's about to break
to throw out his morals
would just seem to beg the question
is this really worth it?
a risk he's sure not willing to take

[Chorus x2]

so she says, "to spite my face, i'm cutting off my nose for you,
i know you'd do the same thing too.
revel in what you'll miss out
you played me for a fool this time
good luck with all your future ties."

so now it's done
say goodbye to the chance that was once within your reach
kiss farewell to your loss, to your lack of decency
you'll never know what you missed, what you could have found in me
insincere is the word to describe you best from me

[Chorus]

this girl is always after the bad boy. the bad boy who always breaks her heart. shes been hurt more times than she can count, bringing her closer to complete heartbreak. but as soon as its over, she pretends to be over it. she needs to be the tough one, not show her hurt. so she says, good luck & goodbye. its over and she's showing him what he's missing. which is a great deal, because she was the catch of a lifetime.

    um, story of my life!?

to me it seems like this song is talking about a girl who had a guy who was speial her everything first love and what not. but she is a tad bit whiney and is getting on his nerves alot

" her whine makes him crazy so crazy he's about to break "

and now shes stuck wishing for anything near the feeling she once had with him. and yah, he realized she was on in a million too.

my god i cried when i read these lyrics

i love this song so much! i think it has to do with a girl dependent on a guy to make her happy. hence the "crutch" partt. he may like her, but only for a one time thing, but he always falls back for her "her whine makes him crazy"

she also hopes that he would do anything for her, example the "cutting off my nose for you" but secretly she knows he wouldnt.

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
