A Rose And A Baby Ruth Lyrics

A Rose and a Baby Ruth
Doo, doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo, doo

We had a quarrel
A teenage quarrel
Now I'm as blue as I know how to be
I can't call you on the phone
I can't even see you at your home

So I'm sending you this present
Just to prove that I'm telling the truth
Dear, I believe you won't laugh when you receive
This rose and a Baby Ruth

Doo, doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo, doo, ahh

I could have sent you an orchid of some kind
But that's all I had in my jeans at the time

But when we grow up
Some day I'll show up
Just to prove I was telling the truth
I'll kiss you too then I'll hand to you
This rose and a Baby Ruth

Doo, doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo, doo
Doo, doo, doo, doo

A great song that talks about geeting in a quarrel with a loved one and not being able to even say sorry so you do the next best thing you get some flowers and a card but he only had enough to get a rose and a baby ruth so it's an I love you and I'm sorry type of song

I thought a Baby Ruth was an American chocolate bar...almost sounds like he wants to say sorry, but can't be arsed.

I feel like since this is a pretty old song and it also says "a teenage quarell" which was..his past and obviously best girlfriend Missy. In his book, "Long Hard Road Out of Hell" there was a point in Manson's life when his music career started getting really serious. going on tour, being away from home. etc. He was telling Missy that he still cares about her and he wishes they wouldnt have had to part but its something he had to do, and hes hoping they could be together again, someday.
