All he did was change in a new verse in place of the repetition of the first. Wish he did stuff like that for On and On and On, 1234 1234, ect. Just to give the album more new content, ya know?
But they werent trying to write a new album, this was jsut to screw over band that claims to be catch 22 from making money off toms work, and thats how he thought the record should originally sound.

The band that "claims" to be Catch 22 IS Catch 22. The album was not intended to screw over anyone, Tomas was just unhappy with how shitty the original recording sounded and wanted to do his pieces justice.

He was also angry that the company was going to release the original album again as a "special edition" with no actual additional content, no re-recordings, nothing the original didn't have. rather than just letting the company screw people out of it's money he decided they should record a better version of the album to release.

nutz energy in this song, its great. I just cant tell if i like the original better. This sounds alot more produced and clear, i liked the rawness of the first one...i'll just say i like em both haha.
Before I get to the meaning, wasn't the point of the Keasbey re-release to clear-up and produce the original album?
Anyways, I think this song refers to how loser guys and girls go and whine to each other about their lives instead of moving forward and making their own futures.
I think this song is about tomas himself havnig an intense dislike for the world and its workings (if anyon hasnt pickd up on that, thn they've never listened to streetlight manifesto before) and feels he has genuine and good reasons for hating the world, and hates others that do like him without reason, like a rich persom with a great deal of frinds and a smooth easy life complaining to him about how difficult their life is (yes i am speaking partially of emos) and how he has it easy, when in fact, tomas is th one who through his whole life has had it difficult, but still tries to make the most of his life. This song is about him having no patience for whiners anymore. I could b just grasping at straws, but thats what this song means to me n e way
I think this song is about how you can do or be anything you want to if you put your mind to it. And its about how people whine about their lives, when actually they are in 100% control of their lives, and decide to do nothing about it.

This song is about repetitive tasks that he has to do to get by that strangle him, then you look at certain social scenes, where kids are bitching over nothing. They don't know how to do anything by themselves, this song has a lot of independence to it. Pretty much it's the fact that Tom is starting to get into the rhythmic pattern of society and it's people, but hell if he leaves himself like that, he'll never be alone in the world, which sounds extremely sarcastic, or it could be him getting over the fact of the matter.
This song is great "I don't need a music scene to tell me who I am!" So true, people determine there scene by what and who they listen too. I love Streetlight and Catch 22 but I'm no "Ska head" or "punk" it's just the music I like.
Maybe there is a love story looking back on it, maybe he lost a girl to a music scene that killed her individualism. Either way great fucking song.
