Just A Chance Lyrics

Doesn't matter what you think I do
All I wanna do is see it through
You may say it's not a great romance
But all I want from you is just a chance to try
Any way at all
Don't you think we know it has to hurt
Are minds that small?

I won't tell you if it's short or long
All I know is that it don't feel wrong
You may say it's not a great romance
But all we want from you is just a chance to try
Any way we can
Don't you think we know it has to hurt
Won't you understand?

Doesn't matter what you think I do
All I wanna do is see it through
You may say it's not a great romance
But all I want from you is just a chance to try
Any way we can
Don't you think we know it has to hurt
Won't you understand?

Cover art for Just A Chance lyrics by Badfinger

Reportedly a plea from Pete Ham to Warner Brothers not to lose faith after the first album Badfinger did for the label did not sell well (and had no hits.) Regardless of the inspiration, the song ROCKS! Would have made a great single in the power pop tradition of "No Matter What" or "Baby Blue". A wonderful blast of guitar pop that should not be missed.

Actually, this song was written when Pete fell in love with Anne Ferguson, who was married to their roadie, Ian. He is asking those involved to give them a chance and try to understand what happened....that they weren't trying to hurt anyone, but that they just fell in love. Anne is Petera's (Pete's daughter) mother.
