Oh great fanged mother
I call upon thee
Arise
With Vengeance
And a voice
Of blasphemy
Bring out your dead [x2]
touch, taste, feel [x3]
No. Don't do it. Stop.
I'm sorry, no, I can't, please
Can you hear me? help me
That's impossible, that's impossible, stop listening
As long as you are under my roof you will respect me [x4]
The only truth is suffering, the only truth is suffering
And it's ok to hate yourself
Just lay still don't cry for help
No. No. No.
Run, anywhere you can
It's coming, the suffering is here
I'm sick but I need my disease [x3]
Im sick
No one is safe, no where is safe
I'm sorry, it was a mistake, someone let me out of here
Please, let me out of here
Go away, go away, go away
Surrender
Is your only hope
I call upon thee
Arise
With Vengeance
And a voice
Of blasphemy
Bring out your dead [x2]
touch, taste, feel [x3]
No. Don't do it. Stop.
I'm sorry, no, I can't, please
Can you hear me? help me
That's impossible, that's impossible, stop listening
As long as you are under my roof you will respect me [x4]
The only truth is suffering, the only truth is suffering
And it's ok to hate yourself
Just lay still don't cry for help
No. No. No.
Run, anywhere you can
It's coming, the suffering is here
I'm sick but I need my disease [x3]
Im sick
No one is safe, no where is safe
I'm sorry, it was a mistake, someone let me out of here
Please, let me out of here
Go away, go away, go away
Surrender
Is your only hope

at the near-end of the song, you can hear a man speaking backwards or saying complete gibberish, but i beileve it's a language in reverse. But anyway, i read a blog by otep, and she was talking about the recordings of their House of Secrets album. And she said when they finished recording Requiem, they listened to it and at the very end of the song they heard someone speaking backwards, but the scary thing is, is that there was no one speaking backwards when they did the recording. It just somehow appeared on that song for no apparent reason.. And so they just left it like that. So when you listen to the song you hear a ghost man speaking backwards... yepp.. sooo fucking scary i almost peed my pants..
Sort of reminds me of this studio in california, i don't really know where the studio is, but let's just say it is in california. Well they say that this studio is supposedly haunted, because when artists record their music and then listen to it after, they can hear a vague singing in the background which wasn't there when they recorded it. And so they discovered that the studio was built over an ancient burial ground, so maybe the spirits enjoy the music.. I have no clue, but just thought you'd wanted to know..
Funny thing is though, the intro of the song is otep summoning a spirit of some sort, and at the end the spirit comes and speaks in tongues.. hehe..
The first time i heard this song i was listening to it under the covers, in the dark, with the headphones jammed into my ears. It sent shivers down my spine through the entire thing, and actually brought me to tears.
I think she is summoning her inner demons, I mean it sounds like she is being beaten and I dont know much of her history but of her most songs are about being abused. That is to creppy, i didnt catch the voice until the end. >.< maybe he was trying to say "I hear you"
omg, my friend made me listen to this fxcked up song on my roof (by MYSELF) at like, 1 in the morning to get the full effect. i really like otep though for some odd, odd reason xD. i think she's like recollecting some terrible childhood memories or something like the whole "As long as you are under my roof you will respect me", it sounds like the last time that's said, she's being beaten. so... yeah.
So I just played this in reverse to listen to that whole "backwards voice" thing.. It sounds like it's singing/humming something.. The whole song is REALLY creepy in reverse... xD
I love it though ^_^
i love this song. Oteps lyrics are amazing.
