God's Top Ten Lyrics
(first verse sung by Suzie McNeil)
Romance is gone
He's drifting with the stars
A lyric in his pocket
Little girl in his heart
When you hears his songs
On the radio
I don't need to tell you
What you already know
He's on God's top ten
Where heaven never ends
(the rest of the song sung by JD Fortune)
You saw the world
And the world saw you on the stage
Wild, wild, wild colonial boy
Roquefort le pont
Your gypsy heart is free
Pictures on the wall
Of your family
He's on God's top ten
Where heaven never ends
He's on God's top ten
Baby's got momma's eyes
She was always beautiful
When you hear his voice
Feel his arms around you
You remember momma smiling
A daddy's little girl
Bad weather cold media storm
He's on God's top ten
Where heaven never ends
He's on God's top ten
He's drifting with the stars
A lyric in his pocket
Little girl in his heart
When you hears his songs
On the radio
I don't need to tell you
What you already know
He's on God's top ten
Where heaven never ends
And the world saw you on the stage
Wild, wild, wild colonial boy
Roquefort le pont
Your gypsy heart is free
Pictures on the wall
Of your family
He's on God's top ten
Where heaven never ends
He's on God's top ten
She was always beautiful
When you hear his voice
Feel his arms around you
You remember momma smiling
A daddy's little girl
Bad weather cold media storm
He's on God's top ten
Where heaven never ends
He's on God's top ten

I think this song is obvioulsy about Michael Hutchence and his daughter, like the whole second verse, is descrbing Hutchence and the third verse is about his daughter. I think this song is a really great track on this CD and like ... really sweet.
This is the only new INXS song I like. It's beautiful. I first heard it on November 22, and it made me cry.
I agree with a factor, i think its about micheal hitchence aswell
Definitely about Michael and Tiger Lily. Bunch of references to things in Michael's life also.
Roquefort le Pont is a reference to a wine. Hutch was a big fan of alcohol, hah.
'God's Top Ten' is an INXS reference, 'cause in 'Here Comes II', Hutchence sings 'Here comes god's top ten.'
Wild colonial boy could be referring to the Cold Chisel song of the same name. Also, just being Australian.
Gypsy heart is probably a reference to how much Michael moved about and didn't have much love for material goods.
And I'm not sure about 'pictures on the wall of your family', but I believe that before he died, he had covered one wall of his french estate in pictures of the band and his family to remind himself of where he had come from.
"Romance" is gone... When I first heard it I thought it was "A man" is gone. Why do I already prefer my lyrics?!
Anyway, sad song, but a beautiful tribute. R.I.P.
I get chills at nearly every line of this song... especially "Baby's got momma's eyes, she was l aways beautiful..."
Also, "Roquefort le Pins" was the name of Michael Hutchence's villa in the South of France. I'm not sure if that's what the line "Roquefort le Pont" refers to or not.
