All veils and misty
Streets of blue
Almond looks
That chill divine
Some silken moment
Goes on forever
And we're leaving broken hearts behind

Mystify
Mystify me
Mystify
Mystify me

I need perfection
Some twisted selection
That tangles me
To keep me alive

In all that exists
None have your beauty
I see your face
I will survive

Mystify
Mystify me
Mystify
Mystify me

Eternally wild with the power
To make every moment come alive
All those stars that shine upon you
Will kiss you every night

All veils and misty
Streets of blue
Almond looks
That chill divine
Some silken moment
Goes on forever
And we're leaving
Yeah we're leaving broken hearts behind

Mystify
Mystify me
Mystify
Mystify me

You're eternally wild with the power
To make every moment come alive
All those stars that shine upon you
Well they'll kiss you every night

Mystify
Mystify me
Mystify
Mystify me

Mystify
Mystify me
Mystify

    "Almond looks, that chill divine"

For me it is a pretty clear. When Michael says Almond looks, I see the eyes of a women I love, and that moment for me is a chill divine, feeling indescribable

    My Opinion

Obviously, to me, just about a man and his lover. And by the way, his lover sounds really awesome... I want to be her ;D

I don't really get the first verse, but the words are very pretty. I especially like "And we're leaving broken hearts behind."

The chorus- well, the word "hypnotize" could have been used, but instead "mystify" was and that turned the song meaning on its head!

"I need perfection, some twisted selection, that tangles me, to keep me alive"- about choosing the right gil. About finding THE ONE. Don't we al dream of that? The "twsited selection" of lookng for her.

"In all that exist, none have your beauty- I see your face, I will survive." Yay! Hee's found her! As long as she's there, he's going to be fine.

And then my favorite lyrics- "Eternlly wild with the power, to make every moment come alive... all the stars that shne above you, wel they'll kiss you every night." In the course of a few lyrics hes gone from searching for and finding her to exhalting his lover. Words cannot express how much I love these lyrcis! Such a way to compliment someone. That's why I want to be her (not only that, but because if we're being literal here she's dating the hottest man who ever lived...).

I love the piao on this track. It's a GREAT song to belt out at the top of yur lungs. ;)

Do the broken hearts left behind belong to the protagonist and his lover, or to their current partners being left? I've always heard it as the latter but I was wondering...

I like this song a lot but sometimes think it's performed a bit too bombastically; I could hear it sung the same way but with less instrumental backup and be even more sexy/mysterious. Love the lyrics.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
