It's supposed to be about the vile ugliness, selfishness, laziness, and just plain out pieces of shit that humanity really is. They will always sin, they'll always just wanna fuck, get away from their problems like bitches.
I think it's about how Trevor thinks the youth of today feel. I dont think I have to get in detail because he goes into detail in the song.
Trevor explains how our generation seeks to escape sobriety, life, and monotony. This song has a more black metal feel with the whole the violin. Great Riff, one of the best songs. Drums are as complex but still great.
My favorite song off the new album! Prolly why they named the album after it.
i love the breakdown at the end when everything stops for a second and its fucking brutal. they way the exit riff is, it just somehow wraps up the whole concept of the song. its awsome.
B12 is right, its my Fav song on the album too and deffinately the most powerful and thats why the band undoubtedly named the album after it also i love the fuckin Black metal feel to this song with the giutar riffs fuckin killer!!!!!

The first poster had a correct interpretation, but it's notable that Trevor specifies the young and rebellious. The second poster was also correct. as well as the third.
The meaning has already been clearly stated. Although their lyrics aren't at their best in this song, the vocals and music alone make it their best song by far. The Black Dahlia Murder is possibly the best band in the genre. Their lyrical style, vocals, and music set them apart from other bands and it's a shame that more people don't know about them. Miasma is their best song on the album...and any album.
I agree with I Own Your Head, I reckon it's how teens or "Yampire Youth" feel about the world, which is true, hell I'm a teenager and when I heard this song, I was just like...Fuck...YES! It just spoke to me, TBDM are so fucking great, best band around atm.
