wow, pretty sad stuff. who's julie?

the only julie i can think of is their friend/original website creator. as far as this song goes it wasn't supposed to be released. somehow the song was leaked. the band actually asks people not to download it as it wasn't meant for us to hear.

Does anyone think this song is connected with the song from Goddamnit "Trouble Breathing". In that song he says stuff like "things they never work out right" and in "Song for Julie" he says "I was wrong when I said things never work out right" what do you think?

Alkaline Trio does not want anyone to listen to this song...please respect their wishes...it was meant for a friend who passed away...please respect their wishes and do not listen/read it.

I doubt thats really true....I mean I know thats the rumor about song for julie but I still don't believe it.....and don't think it makes any less of a fan if you listen/read it

i'm julie. i did the trio website from 1998-2003. the song was written for me summer 2002 when my father passed away from a heart attack. since it was a "present" to me at the time i didn't want everyone in the world getting their hands on it...for some reason it felt less special that way. the trio was nice enough to request that people stop sharing it and amazingly most people listened. i don't mind if people share it now, as long as you take it as a reminder to not take your parents for granted. and yes mark danger, i'm pretty sure it's a reference to trouble breathing. matt is funny that way.

this is a beautiful song, i sang it to my girlfriend on our anniversary, i am very sorry for your loss, and i am sorry that the song leaked, but am also glad that you have said we can listen to it, my girlfriend loves it very much, and i actually thought it was about a loss in a family. i know what it is like to loose someone close to you, things work out fine in the end, they did for me.

I played this song for my girlfriend a while back, but recently weve been going through tough times. I have lost this song and cannot find it anywhere. If anybody has it could they please email it to me, I feel this could help out alot for our relationship

I love this song and i am actually glad it leaked because I am going through a similar time in my life like Julie had, except my mother is the one who is dying. This song really helps me. Ironically, my name is Julie also.
