its about a breakup. The other person was his crutch, and his fears were kept inside. And now the he is alone, he is lost and lonely. That person kept all those things inside.
Hmm, I was under the impression that this is a song of mourning for a lost loved one, but who knows.
I kind of felt a bit that it is the realization that someone you've been with for a long time and felt secure and happy with might not be the one. The loneliness comes from being the only half of the relationship that feels this way.
This i believe is about a marriage that fell apart or one of them died ("I thought until death meant" kind of like until death do we part) but I think it is an amazing song. Really it is a great song to try to cope with your feelings something about it makes me happy. Sevendust does make amazing acoustic songs I must admit I like there acoustic sometimes a lot better than there super heavy even though I do love it.
