Diamonds & Pollen Lyrics
America bled to death
Electric & pregnant
Brilliant sluts & fire worship
Devouring the righteous
We were just monkeys braiding thread
We were golden needles
Diamonds and pollen
And Coma White
A manniqueen of depression
The face of a Dead Star
Fagged out for the corner
She was so soft in the bed
And the pomegranet earth spins into oblivion
The one that trembles
The one that fears
The one that suffers
The one that vomits
The one that needs
The one that trembles
The one that fears
The one that suffers
The one that vomits
The one that needs
A million scars, a million promises [8x]
And all your sad endings are planting in their gardens
And they're waiting to grow & to die like flowers do [3x]

manson is a poet. just because you dont understand it doesnt mean its there to sound cool.
monkeys braining hair could easily describe how many people are stupid and they just focus on their looks as their brain sits and rots.
Part of this songs, I believe has to do with reproduction and abnormal sexuality , "sluts and fire worship", meaningless sex, "monkeys braiding thread", thread a reference to DNA, people mixing. Diamons and pollen, a reference to the reproduction of plants, like in the video "Disposable teens", just like "golden needles" is a reference to Hemerocallis, a plant with a peculiar sets of chromosomes.,
I don't think people understand this song at all. Most of the times Manson use some kind of riddles in his songs.
"And all your sad endings are planting in their gardens And they're waiting to grow & to die like flowers do"
The difference between pollination and planting is like the difference between conceiving your own child and adopting someone else's. A "sad ending" massage would be one without ejaculation, and thus without any possibility of conception - hence "planting," adopting (and not pollinating, conceiving) in their gardens. When you see it this way, the entire song seems to be about a loss of fertility. In the beginning, there was pregnancy, sluts, some Pagan rituals ("fire worship"), conception ("braiding threads" of DNA), and hard-ons and sperm ("diamonds and pollen")... but all those symbols of fertility are suddenly lost in the deadness of Coma White. The earth remains fertile (pomegranate = a textbook symbol of fertility), but... maybe there is no one left to fertilize it (or to enjoy its fertility) because we've all become sterile and soulless Mechanical Animals.
This song is rather intense. I'm not going to put up my definition of the song because i can't word it properly. The lines "And all your sad endings are planting in their gardens And they're waiting to grow & to die like flowers do" are shakespeare inspired, anyhoo
Could you point us to any specific quote from Shakespeare that seems relevant here?

This is obviously from Mechanical Animals era, but from where? I wanna hear this song, but I dunno where to find it. Maybe someone can send me the MP3?

I believe the song is about society (I guess?). Diamonds are a reference to most, if not, of all bees that create diamond shaped (hexagonal) honeycombs (their society) to be the most efficient storage of their collected pollen. So I think as a beehive diamond is maximum efficiency for storing honey, a diamond to us is an expensive and rare gem by demand, not that "God" made it valuable, the people (company/ business) whom horde it create its literal materialistic value. So i interpret diamonds as a root of society's structural values. The 2 interpretations of a diamond put together, right heh? A bee's society depends on the diamond design, allowing it to gain maximum honey- their objective. So then with that said, this song is also about America. American society's structural values. For instance, there is no doubt we've gone into false and never ending wars very recently in American history, maybe since the 80/90s we've been entering oil wars and it escalated in the early 2000s with 9/11. Perhaps that is our diamond (most efficient way) to collect pollen (oil) and get honey (money). However putting them all together fits, that is my interpretation as to what the diamonds and pollen mean.
This is on the Disposable Teens single. Not sure if it's on any other singles.
I don't know, i mean i love manson's music, but it seems like some of his lyrics are just there to sound cool...like pregnant and electric, monkey's braiding hair? I just don't see what they could possibly mean...idk...
