Perfect Enemy Lyrics
Why should I welcome your domination?
Why should I listen to explanations?
I'm not pretending, to make it simple
Try to be something experimental
You don't turn me off
I will never fail
Things I loved before
Are now for sale
Keep yourself away
Far away from me
I forever stay
Your perfect enemy
No longer waiting, remove illusions
No more complaining, forget confusion
No more compassion, not sentimental
I am now something experimental
You don't turn me off
I will never fail
Things I loved before
Are now for sale
Keep yourself away
Far away from me
I forever stay
Your perfect enemy
Why should I listen to explanations?
I'm not pretending, to make it simple
Try to be something experimental
I will never fail
Things I loved before
Are now for sale
Keep yourself away
Far away from me
I forever stay
Your perfect enemy
No more complaining, forget confusion
No more compassion, not sentimental
I am now something experimental
I will never fail
Things I loved before
Are now for sale
Keep yourself away
Far away from me
I forever stay
Your perfect enemy

Well, for me it means that sometimes you can feel a lot of things for one person, even two feelings at once. Sometimes you hate someone because a betrayal or something, but you keep loving that someone, even if you think you hate him/her. You keep remembering the good times and would like to go back. But its impossible. Sad...
I thought maybe it was like a lash out against their manager Ivan Shoppolav (i think its spelled right?) "Why should i welcome your domination" i.e. his obssession with lesbian scandals.......... a bad kind of domination........ "No longer Waiting Remove illusions" They came clean about the fact they had to lie about being lesbians because of ivan.. "Keep yourself away Far away from me" We're done with our contract.. you really didnt care about our music anyways "I'll forever stay your perfect Enemy" Theyre on bitter terms
Of course theres other words that would indicate something else besides this meaning.............. But of course i payed attention to the lyrics that stuck out to me..........
in my opinion this is about a person who is saying these things twoards another person. for example in these lines:
No more complaining, forget confusion No more compassion, not sentimental I am not something experimental" ,
these two r no longer together (and it is about a gay relationship maybe) and the person is saying theres nothing left and shes is not juss not sum experimental thing. she wants the real thing not sumthin kinda phony. and watever happened now she doesnt want to be with the person and the relationship has changed. sumthin like that im guessing.
It's hard for me to explain, but this song has little to do with relationships. For me, this song represents somebody who I would consider a close friend, but also a great enemy. The enemy is somebody older, wiser, and better than me. Without that great comparison, a friendship might come of it, but since the greater "shows off", the lesser is left in the shadows and becomes jealous.
I'm currently making a cd for an ex girlfriend. This is a lot how I feel. This song is about break ups and how things that were so important before are now meaningless.
The person who broke up with you can not end your hopes or life. And the person who was broke up with has so much motivation to do anything and improve them self so they can be " the perfect enemy. "
this is my first note on this site and I want to say that I love this site because it has something which others don't " the meaning!"
and about this song; I usually use music in my real life and this track; I use whenever I want to confront and crash someone who is trying to piss me off. it's true that this tatu is a lesbian but why do all people try to connect the meaning of her songs to it? I hate lesbians or gays . the lines I don't understand are:
You don't turn me off I will never fail
the lines I love: 1-Why should I welcome your domination?
it shows the decision to confront powerfully with some force that try to keep you down.
2-I'll forever stay your Perfect enemy
it shows determination and this hostility will be over just when u see your enemy completly broken down
3-No more complaining, forget confusion
becuase complain is a sign of weekness when you stop complaining you start takin real action
4-No more compassion, not sentimental
I love this line in every situation becuase no one deserve any compassion
the line I prefer were not here:
Keep yourself away Far away from me
because I prefer my enemy to be close and don't aware of me as an enemy so I can cut deeper into his heart.
to me it is either..
1.A girl is in love with her worst enemy
or
2.A lesiban relationship
i love this song~
I think this is about a girl who was in a relationship but she was betrayed so she's trying to forget this other person for good. "Things I loved before Are now for sale" This could mean that the other person is now single and is available for others to take. I like to think it means that the love that she felt for him is now over so she's put that up for sale. I think she secretly still likes him but is telling him to stay far away as she wants to spend forever hating him for the pain he's caused her.
This song could be about the stigma toward lesbianism, but I honestly doubt that's what they were going for. Many of their songs could be interpreted that way, if that's how the listener wanted to hear them, but the meanings are also rather versatile and could signify many things. This seems to me, like it could be sung by any political faction, any demographic, any person or group who feels oppressed by another.
My mind, when hearing this song, went immediately different from what others thought, as this could also be a very political song because of what was going on when the album was released: the war in Iraq, and the Bush Administration. It's more or less, to me at least, telling of someone who's tired of being silenced ("You don't turn me off/I will never fail") and being told empty explanations and lies ("Why should I listen/To explanations") from the media and the Administration about what had been going on in America at the time.
They're basically telling the right wing machine, specifically the Bush Administration and the media (FOX News) to go f**k off. Probably could be considered one of their most political songs when you consider things like that.
It could also be played now as a theme for the Occupy Wall Street movement for a similar purpose. So unfortunate that this wasn't a single.
