I always look on these things, because I like to see what people think of songs. Of course, with such a broad group, everyone's going to have different opinions, and interpretations. Some of you, i get, some of you, i don't know where the hell you get what you do. ButI feel like I should explain on my basis. Tsa, is amazing, by the way, aha.

translation; A boy is in a relationship, he's wants it to work, he really does. Obviously this person means something to him if he's constantly fighting to keep himself going with them. However, we all have our breaking points, perhaps that's why he has no desire to help the OTHER person keep going. HOWEVER, this could also be a different point of view, in the person that he's in the relationship. And they're the one's saying they don't want to help it. I can't remember if they have a vocal change there, but if they do it'd only further that point.

He's keeping to himself to try to block out what other people say, AND because he feels like the other person would be better off without him. He's trying to keep this relationship and himself going, it's a war. He wants her, but he know they shouldn't be together.

She's trying to avoid that they're not doing so well in their relationship, trying to act like it's okay. Maybe she even doesn't want it to end. And he's trying to tell her she has to face this.

Basically what that's saying is, she's not being the person she is, she's getting away from her own life. what they have now is not EVEN what they used to have. Anyway, he decided to leave, or maybe even take a break from this relationship. He's all prepared for it, but then all these memories pop up and they're not god or even stron but they're JUST strong enough to keep him with her.

I don't think it literally means he's getting away, I think it's more along the lines of he wants to. He's going to, this is what needs to be done. He loves her, but he jsut can't stay, it's not good for the bother of them.

But I won't stay around--

Simply said, after all the fighting internally and the struggles, he's basically saying i probably won't be here anymore. We're close to being through.but notice it says i WON'T stay around, which is in the future. he's still with her, it's just a plan. So sayign that it's about some couple who's breaking up, is almost false. They don't even want to, they just need to and it's more they're deciding, not that it's finalized. he's not like, i'm not here anymore.

But that's jsut what I think. :]

This song takes meaning from Orson Scott Cards book series "Alvin Maker" "7th Son" in the series Alvin is a Maker who can hear the Greensong when he is out in the wild forests of early colonial america. It is an awesome story series 7 books in all. I highly recommend reading......

so beautiful.. i can't choose a favorite from tsa, i love them all. what i get from this song is that not too worry no matter what it'll be okay.. don't run from your problems, don't avoid the inevitable, just go with it, and know there will be people to help you out.

i think its about a boy and girl that are fighting and he's had enough of it, hence the line - Dear friend, I haven't the slightest desire To help keep you going- cause he also has his fair share of stuff to deal with so he decides to move away, and just as the plans are finalised, he wants her to open up to him. he's telling her that she cant keep on going like this. just keeping everything inside, that she needs to let it out, she needs to cry. cause otherwise shes barly human

then the end of the song is about him leaving. -I've got my bags packed and I've said my goodbyes Constantly giving into These moments that just bring me down- although he's sad about leaving, he hopes this will help her

its a beautiful song and very well played and sung. i love them.

I love this song. I relate to it like no other.

to me it means running away from your family because of problems you're having.

^ running away from the problems, and the family home is becoming even more empty and cold. 'empty' meaning the people are becoming 'empty', I think.
