Wo Bist Du

I think this song has something to do with everything you ever knew or thought about someone you love very suddenly and unexpectedly changing.

wo bist du is him missing someone maybe a breakup maybe they left and never came back... it is a very emotional song...i love it.

To me, this is a love song with a twist.

This song is about someone who lost the person he loves. Maybe they died, maybe they left, maybe they changed so much the singer doesn't know them anymore....

But I think they probably died, with the "I seek you behind the light" and "I seek you under every stone." To me,

It starts out just saying how everything in the world has changed without "you", and continues with how "I" can't live alone, and ends with the singer saying he will fall asleep with a knife. (I read that as suicide, a sort of sleep....)

It's a beautiful song, and up until the end, you can believe it is a nice, normal love song, with someone seeking out their love, hoping to find them again.... But no, the singer has given up hope, and will rejoin his love in another way.

I do particularly love this song, it is so bittersweet, it feels like someone who has had a long relationship with someone and many ups and downs before getting to this point. And it builds in intensity, you feel the singer moving to the point where he finally realises that he can't live like this anymore.

Ever thought about the possibility that the line "Ich schlaf mit einem Messer ein" (yes, it's "schlaf", not "schlag" as written in the lyrics above - "schlagen" means "to smash into something") could mean that the lyrical "I" has killed the girl/woman that he's mourning about himself ?
