I Hold Her Lyrics

Smokey is my apple
And green are my eyes
Silent is snowfall
I whispher goodbye
Farewell to the child
That I use to be
I hold her she's sobbing
My baby...

The wolf and the lion
Have asked me to play
Though she told me not to
I went anyway
A pile of matches
The truth at my feet
I hold her she's sobbing
My baby...

The cream in my tea
Spells out something to me
And they say
That I'll heal by the day
But, the message I give
Kills off all will to live
I'm afriad that I'm losing my way

Burning in heaven
My destiny lies
When she read my stars
She didn't mention that night
I loved you, my Bambi
I don't want to leave
But, I hold her she's sobbing
My baby...

I hold her she's sobbing
I hold her she's sobbing
I hold her she's sobbing
My baby...

I don't know why, but after reading these lyrics, I thought 'abortion'. But then again, I can be absolutely off topic. (After all, she's holding her isn't she?)

i asked bonnie, via myspace, what she wrote this song about, and this is her response:

I hold her is about a loss of innocence... It was one of my first songwriting attempts when I was about fourtteen. It is basically poetry about being that age and a lot of literal imagery I was seeing and experiencing at the time. I had some crazy shit happen to me and I was holding my mother while she sobbed "My baby..." I get a lot of questions about that one. Thanks for your continued support and stay tuned for new music!!!"

I thought it was about a loss of innocence too. Bonnie went through a lot when she was a teenager it looked like, and finally things came to a head and maybe everyone was saying how everything would get better, but she just doesn't feel she has the energy to turn things around "they say that i'll heal by the day, but the message i give kills off all will to live, I'm afraid that i'm loosing my way". Such a sad song ♥
