His actions speak nothing
But lies, intoxicated eyes
And lonely hearts
Are held accounted for

Disease eats inside
Nothing left to hide
The sun starts to rise
As his black heart dies
As his black heart dies

You're my mistake
And I know it's wrong
Don't let the truth be told
Scared of what you don't know
These secrets, keeping us alive

Break my chest in two
(Break my chest in two)
A shallow heart for you

Half a heart is all you see
Bleeding off dependency
Got nothing left to hide
As his black heart dies
As his black heart dies

You're my mistake
(As his black heart dies)
And I know it's wrong
(As his black heart dies)

Don't let the truth be told
Scared of what you don't know
(As his black heart dies)
These secrets keeping us alive

I leave my heart to take
With blood shot eyes
Your heart will break

As this night fades again
(As this night fades again)
So broken down I've lost again
I'm lost again

You're my mistake
(As his black heart dies)
And I know it's wrong
(As his black heart dies)

Don't let the truth be told
Scared of what you don't know
(As his black heart dies)
These secrets keeping us alive

You're my mistake
(As his black heart dies)
And I know it's wrong
(As his black heart dies)

Don't let the truth be told
Scared of what you don't know
(As his black heart dies)
These secrets keeping us alive

    • This part could be about someone who's been put through a lot for most of his life. He's gotten to the point where he doesn't care anymore because no matter how hard he tried to please or show his love for those around him or his girlfriend - he was let down or his actions were tossed aside. There's only so many tears you can cry before it drains the light from your eyes and there is only so much pain a soul can take before it starts to die inside. Soul=heart. -"Disease eats inside, nothing left to hide" could be about the pain that is eating away at him, slowly killing him. The part about nothing left to hide could be that he's intentionally cut himself on the outside to show his pain on the inside.

"You're my mistake And I know it's wrong Don't let the truth be told Scared of what you don't know These secrets keeping us alive."

-He's admitting that he was wrong for ever trusting or caring about his girlfriend or anyone in general. There are secrets untold, everyone knows but doesn't do a thing about it.

"Break my chest in two A shallow heart for you Half a heart is all you see Bleeding off dependency Got nothing left to hide As his black heart dies"

-Basically I think that he's saying look at what you've done to me you've sucked the love right out of me. And as he's pouring his soul out to them his heart can finally have some comfort even though it's scarred.

"I leave my heart to take With blood shot eyes Your heart will break As this night fades again So broken down I've lost again I'm lost again"

-And just when he thinks things could be getting better he might either be let down again, so his will to care has faded/he's giving up completely.

That's just my interpretation of it. I'm no expert. A song can mean a million things to billions of people.

Im thinking a contrary to a loss of innocense, His actions speak nothing but lies Intoxicated eyes And lonely hearts Are held accounted for Disease eats inside

Sounds as if someone is doing something wrond then...

The sun starts to rise.. (things get better)

As his black heart dies... his "black heart" could represent the evil inside him which has now "died" he has relized how downhill he is going and relizes he must change

*correction.. Lol - I didn't add the first verse at the top so this is how it goes.

"His actions speak nothing but lies Intoxicated eyes And lonely hearts Are held accounted for Disease eats inside Nothing left to hide The sun starts to rise As his black heart dies"

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
