i became a fan of sevendust because of theyre hard rockin music but this is one of the best slow songs ive heard since Staind's Epiphany.
On the Next DVD, John Connolly says this song is about the birth of his daughter.
Fantastic song, and yes, it is about the birth of John's daughter.
A lot of people I know have compared this song to Creed's "With Arms Wide Open" because of the similar subject matter, but I think that is a VERY unfair comparison. Sevendust are, always have been, and always will be musically superior to Creed. Why they even agreed to ever tour with them back in the day is beyond me; aside from wanting to get noticed.
They probably toured with Creed because they get along and share the same beliefs. They thank God like crazy in all their CDs. Still is a weird billing though since if it was back in the day Sevendust would have been playing harder stuff from their first albums before they started changing their sound. Even though Sevendust is, for the most part, metal and kicks Creed's ass.
